Check out the CDC vaccination quiz to see what's appropriate for your age: https://www2.cdc.gov/nip/adultimmsched/

USCIS may have a list of required vaccinations but if they are not appropriate for your age, you do not have to get them. The doctor will just mark it as such.

Have a tentative travel plan. That's all you can do because you wouldn't know how long you'll go through Administrative Processing after they approve your K-1 visa and before they finally issue the visa. The officer knows you cannot be 100% sure about the exact date you will enter the US. But whatever your tentative travel plan is, you might wanna make sure you can explain why you're thinking about flying to the US at a certain point of time e.g. you gotta serve work resignation notice, you wanna finish your apartment lease etc.

Thank you and not a problem  I forgot one thing. When we were inside the office, the officer use a webcam to take my mugshot. I think that was right after fingerprinting me.

Fingers crossed for you and hoping you receive an approval! Would love to hear the outcome when you find out a definite outcome.  Thanks for the information on what to expect when there.

I just went to mine this past Tuesday. It was at the Atlanta field office. Got a nice officer. My interview was really straightforward with him asking me the following questions:
Basic biographic details Parents' names My phone number Current address My husband's date of birth How we met Where we met General relationship timeline Full list of the criminal background questions (the same ones on the form where you had to check yes, no, N/A and/or explain) I frontloaded when I filed my AOS and he said it seemed like everything is in order. I brought more updated supporting documents and I submitted the more recent joint account statements, auto-insurance with both our names, health insurance mailer with both our cards, my husband's work benefits enrollment confirmation that has my name on it, beneficiary listing for his 401k, new letter of employer, 2018 joint 1040, husband's W-2, Costco renewal notices, 10 photos with family members and some with just us. The officer asked me what's going on in each photo and I told him who's in them and where the photos were taken.

However, he gave me the paper that says a decision cannot be made immediately and further review was required. He did say that is he issues that document to  all applicants that are assigned to him because he likes to re-review everything before he gives the final approval. He then walked us out to the photocopier to make a copy of our IDs, shook hands and we were on our way out.

My status updates have been kinda erratic. Started with card in production on the very next day and then later that day, it said my case was reopened. And when I looked at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ today, apparently there was an approval status on 2/28 and then it went back to case reopened. I cannot tell you if I was approved or not for real but I sure hope so. I could answer all questions and he didn't seem to doubt our relationship.

Here's what to expect on the day of your interview at the Atlanta field office:
Arrive 30 minutes PRIOR to your interview time. Go through entrance security. Go to the reception with your ID and interview notice to check in. You will receive a number ticket. Proceed to the Second Floor. Sit towards the front where there are two TVs because that's where your number ticket would show up telling you which Door to go to when it is your turn. Keep your eyes glued to the screen because they don't use a PA system. Door 1 is where the elevator is. Door 2 is at the front of the room. Go to your Door and your officer will come out announcing the number and if it is yours, you go with the officer. Once you are in the office, you will have to raise your hand and take an oath to tell the truth. Officer will ask for your ID and index fingerprints. Once biometrics is confirmed, interview will begin.

Whilst the instructions said the previous edition could be used until 8/25, it is always better to use the latest edition to avoid any problem. There have been cases whereby some clueless USCIS employees actually rejected previous edition forms that were allowed and asked for the latest edition.

KULtoATL got a reaction from 10515524 in Unreliable processing times - I-129F NOA2
Firstly, your case was not transferred from Texas to California. Texas was just the receiving facility and they routes all I-129Fs to California Service Center currently.

Secondly, your fiancé probably talked to a Tier 1 officer and he/she couldn't give case specific status information. The current processing trend is at least 3 months and it could be more. So hang in there. There are still a lot of people with your NOA1 date that haven't got an approval, rejection or RFE.

Your fiancé can try to call USCIS again and ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer instead.

FYI, they don't provide the tracking number. The card is sent out via Priority Mail and it will be delivered to your mailbox. No signature is required at delivery either. I just received my card yesterday though Informed Delivery said it would be delivered on Monday. Guess my post office sorted mails quickly and my mail carrier managed to add it to his run yesterday

Welcome to the site! Lots of helpful people here. I know it's daunting but check out the following guides:

Read the guides and get an overview of the process. Always download and use the latest forms from USCIS website.

The one thing I wished we had known better would be to keep all the papers (think tickets, receipts and the likes), confirmation e-mails etc from every meeting. Reason being you will need all sorts of evidence to support your case. And if you are not sure about something, always ask early and prepare early rather than later. That would save your sanity.

    1. Only thing I wish I had done differently was not do my medical. But I AoS'ed from B2 tourist status. You're doing K1 so I don't think that applies to you as the medical is 100% required. My only advice is to read the guide on this site and double/triple/quadruple check everything before sending it in. And prepare yourself for a looong wait. It's just how USCIS is. The long wait doesn't mean there's something wrong with your case. They just have a lot to go through and more applications are coming in at the end of the line everyday.

    2. No. The changes they ARE making...well, I actually am in favor of most of them but given the administration's "image", the media is attempting to demonize them even more with these policy changes. They have not and are not doing anything with K1 specifically.

KULtoATL got a reaction from MateoSara in Should I use a Co-Sponser?
Does your current total monthly income when multiplied by 12 to get an estimate of your annual income meets the current 2018 poverty guideline? If you are barely meeting it, consider adding your dad as a co-sponsor. Always more prudent to refer to the 125% just to be safe. Sorry, I like to eliminate all possibilities of any unnecessary delays 😂

KULtoATL got a reaction from barashka in Question 38. On I-134 (Intend or Not Intend)
I have no idea if there are any repercussions for selecting "do not intend" but I personally wouldn't do it. On our form, we checked the box "intend" and wrote "N/A K-1 fiance(e) visa" in Part 7 Additional Information just to be safe. So far people who have done it this way did not have any issues.

Besides, by checking the "intend" box, it does tell the person reading the form to refer to Part 7 Additional Information for whatever reasons that you might have listed down to explain your choice of answer.

KULtoATL got a reaction from Amit&Julie in Should I Include Our Engagement Ring Receipt??? Need advice
Engagement ring receipt is not a high priority. It being in your name shouldn't be an issue either because the logic can be as easy as 'it would be easier to prove one's identity if item needs to be exchanged or returned'. My wedding set was purchased in my home country using my credit card for that very reason but I did have a PayPal transaction history to show that my then fiancé sent me the amount that I had paid for. Agree with @missileman to focus on other quality evidence.
