Same, May10th transfer too. When my case went to Vermont, it was going at a good speed; 9 months. Then that slowed down to 13 months. Potomac was delivering within 60 days of a transfer, I get transferred and they slowed down. I know it's not personal, but jeeze it's really frustrating. Traveling causes more anxiety, my employer is uncertain about the extension letter (though, understanding fortunately), and frankly I just want to be able to get on with my life, settle down and stop dealing with this never ending sensation of being transient.

For what it's worth, we were prepared to file the N-400 before we'd received the approval. However, once we knew my wife had been approved we waited for her physical card before submitting the online application (way easier than the paper format, as it walks you through what's needed). We didn't want to chance her card being waylaid, though we admit to being a bit paranoid about that. Upside was attaching a copy of her 10yr card, rather than the Conditional, to the required documents section. You can do either way, as long as you're at least within your 90-day advance filing period. You'll probably receive the 10yr card this week.
Newark is my hometown! Not that means much to you.

Okay.
I know Instagram is not 100% accurate..(My country is going through a phase...nothing stable yet) but check this page and the announce "website."
Ps: for the Panama situation, your fiance should go to the correspondent department over there and try to clear the doubt.
Good luck!

Thank you @Amadia! The only thing with Venezuelan's passport is which country is accepting the extension made it by Guaido. That's what we need to consider. The only country until now I believe are U.S.A, Canada, Spain, Colombia & Ecuador.

Consider obtaining US Re-Entry Permit. Not only it allows you to return to USA, many countries accept it as equivalent to passport as far as I know. Though I am not legal expert

PilsenC reacted to BryceAndRebeca in Venezuela Passport Question
Passports in and out of Venezuela take a lot of time, it will NEVER take days. From what I've heard the process to get the prorroga (stamp) it's taking quite some too. So, unless she has some kind of contact inside of SAIME that can expedite that for her it's a long shot.

Prystine's case was transferred to Potomac also. Her was approved without interview within one month. Hope this will be the same for us all.

You are too smart for your own good. Have tried the links I listed? They take you to same sites main pages where the button to "Sign On" take you to the pages you posted. Tow ways to get to the same thing... Enjoy

Yeah, they are trying to do something about the backlog.
It's not bad. It would be great if they would have approved it instead of transferring. 😉 But hey at least they have taken some action.
You're welcome.

Yeah. But have in mind the processing times. Is gonna be at least seven months before doing the medical exams,so yes,you have time. Also you would be able to learn more about you process and the things that you are going to need.
La mejor de las suertes!

The best advice I can give you is DO IT BY YOURSELF = NO LAWYER. I said this because here in Visajourney (and other websites) you would found all the tools needing to apply for K1 visa successfully. That's what My husband did. The language, You going to have plenty of time to practice your Spanish and for her to learn some English (applications take time :)). If she has internet I would suggest https://englishlive.ef.com/en-us/ or even Openenglish.com sometime easy so she would be able to understand a little more if she doesn't.
Now talking about Finances, you may be going to need a co-sponsor just for the visa purposes. \\
Everything is here in visa journey you only need to read A LOT and used your best judgment.
BTW, NO LEGAL FATHER means that it wasn't recognized by natural father. Mother have all rights and duty.

I’m not sure why people act like she’d be the first immigrant to come not knowing English. That’s not a requirement. My husband is learning and yes the first months are hard for anyone navigating a life in a foreign country and not knowing the language. You take it day by day. The more of a head start she can get the better.

PilsenC reacted to Highmystic in K1 advice
At some point, perhaps during her interview process, The may look at how well the couple can converse and communicate. And as others say, they look at your "gross income". It is a long process, months and months, and a LOT of money for the K1, help with her expenses for travel to get her physical, the childs physical, visas, interviews, etc.. Then, the wedding, then filing for things like Advance parole, Green card, EAD, etc.. A long road. As for work, I don't know about how it is in Min, but in places where there are casinos, (Nevada), most have housekeeping staff who do not speak a lick of English. Good luck on your journey, and keep in mind, BE TRUTHFUL in any forms you complete for the K1. You may also look in to the CR1 which takes a bit longer but half the price. You go down there, get married, and file to bring your wife and child back. In the meantime, work to get your bills down, etc..

PilsenC reacted to ronniebreda in K1 advice
Don't let age fool you. Read the instructions,/forms, read them again, then read them again, and read them again. If you have questions then look for answers on this website or make a post and ask. I have seen many older people on this site get denials. Age does not matter. I was 20 years old when we started the K1 visa process.
Your heart wants what it wants, but sometimes you need to slow down and think logically about things. Take time to get to know each other in person. It's cliche, but if it is meant to be then waiting/taking time won't ruin the relationship.
Good luck!

There's always a chance of being selected for an interview. That's a fact.

PilsenC reacted to Gorkhali in Thinking my wife is homesick and depressed
moving to the new country and new life would be crazy. I moved into US 7 weeks ago. I moved in because I will do anything for her and I was determined. All i needed was to see her happy and i moved here.
Since I moved, I had to give up my high paying job as I was managing the company and I was growing every day. As i moved, i am home all day trying to understand the culture, roads, weather, traffic signs etc etc and tons of other things. Everything is super expensive and just the god damm conversion rate is crazy.
I have nothing to do other than to read, cook, clean, wash. I had CR1 visa in my passport but no one gave me job coz they wanted green card copy. Now i have green card and i cant find a right opening or job which is near me. I dont know how to drive so first time in my life i am learning how to drive because i was always driven by office car earlier. i have offers from places which will take 3 hrs by bus.
From managing a business and running it, I have taken a job to clean a bathroom on weekend, fix the lawn of neighbors and in weekdays offload the big boxes at warehouse. NOW I AM NOT COMPLAINING AT ALL - I WILL TAKE EVERYTHING WITH SMILE FOR HER (EVEN A BULLET),
I am not doing these odd jobs for money. I am doing these odd jobs to keep myself occupied and to know people and to be able to buy her some flowers every weekend and spoil her with my love. Seeing her smile, Everything seems fair and worth.
Other than these odd jobs and household chores, I volunteer, I go for long walks, i bike around, i take photos (we have lovely sunrise and sunset) and I try to find a job that i like. I am also freelancing for few people in the neighborhood and help folks in the neighbourhood with the computer issues. This way, I am building my life and being loved. This way I can see my wife smile and feel proud of me.
But if your wife doesn't have a strong head it's going to be hard. May be she can keep herself busy by studying or joining the hobbies she loves. May be she can join a gym and make new friends, visit library and book clubs,
You thought the visa process was difficult, no wait the adjustment is going to be rougher. It takes a good year for people to adjust.

Update:
Our interview was today, approved on the spot!
Office: Santa Ana, CA
appointment was at noon. we arrived at 11.30 - they finally called us about 12.45
interview was about 1 hour long
mostly i-485 questions
no weird-"what brand of shampoo does she use"-questions, everything straight forward
We are traveling this weekend so i asked for the passport stamp once the officer said we were approved
Showed proof of travel arrangement and purpose and got a referral letter to take to the info pass office for same day appointment to get the stamp
waited to be called for another 20 mins, dropped documents, waited 20 mins, got stamp
Entire process took us like 4 hours and we were starving!
Went to celebratory Venezuelan lunch right after.
Good luck to everyone!
