Those dates don't mean much during the regular wait for interview, especially during covid, but they really mean nothing after you passed the interview and you get the "oath ceremony will be scheduled" notification. Normally you should get it within a week's time for an oath which is usually 3-4 weeks later. After my interview it showed what you are seeing, but in my case at least and with many cases that I have read about usually that's what happens. Now of course there are some people who got unlucky and had to wait months, but I wouldn't be worried about the 4 months and 9 months that you are seeing (unless you end up being in the unlucky group).

Had my interview yesterday at the Brooklyn, NY field office and was approved on the spot – they even scheduled my oath for me before I left. Oath ceremony is next Friday the 22nd!

Yup, we are in the same situation. I own house with my parents and my wife is not in the mortgage. However, she is on home insurance and has one utility under our name. We had combo interview today morning and officer recommended case for approval (no updates online yet). Bring documents to show that your husband and his parents own the house and you should be fine.

Not gonna lie, but if I were in OP’s shoes, to me that would be a dealbreaker on the marriage, lying about having a kid and a previous marriage— those are huge relationship bombshells to drop. Forget USCIS, even if it was a domestic marriage stuff like that would make me wonder what else he was lying about. Why wait until he was caught to tell the truth? Probably because he is actually trying to commit green card fraud.

I’m sorry about all this, OP.

Nobody knows yet. Biden hasn't even been sworn in yet. Since immigration was a major issue during Trump, they might prioritize it? But there's also Covid, so who knows? As long as Covid is the main focus, my hunch is that immigration will remain on the back burner, but I might be wrong.

If someone wants to update spreadsheet: filed on 01.15.20, bio on 02.06.20, interview today, 12.29.20. Orlando filer.
Naturalization based on 5 year rule, no questions about marriage dissolution.

The officer was short at first but was laughing at the end.

Test was a total of 6 questions, only remember the first 4.
Who’s the speaker of the house
    name 3 original states
name one right exclusive to American citizens
    who makes federal laws

A lot of time was spent getting info on my speeding tickets (quite a few) and the results of each one. After showing proof of payment and Court records, everything was fine.

A tip for everyone: they wanna see tax transcripts from the IRS not the long version that we submit to the IRS. Only by going to the IRS you will get those.

Approved on the spot. When I left the interview my case status was showing “oath ceremony will be scheduled”.

My ceremony is going to be in the courthouse due to name change request.

Relief, relief, relief. It’s what I feel right now.

I wish everyone good luck and
a happy 2021. Thank you all for the good info we all shared in this forum. Highly helpful.

Congratulations! I have the exact same first dates (filed in Dallas on Jan 27, bio in Feb), but no word since then. Did you have your I-751 pending? I suspect that's what's slowing down my process.

Come to the US, get a job, get an apartment and move out. The longer you prolong facing the issue the longer your anxiety will bear on you. As MIL is working, chances are you won’t even see her much and when you get a job even less.

I just told them I needed to renew my drivers license to get to work, and they approved that reason (and that is also the truth).

Anyways, another update: Just completed my InfoPass appointment– I now have the I-551 stamp! Also, they took away my expired Green Card, guess I won't have that as as souvenir :C

Hey there, Kaelyra! Fellow Canadian here.

We are getting married in August 2021. Does any one know if there is a way to get him a visa while we are both still living in Canada?
Canadians do not need a visa to visit! He will, however, need a Canadian passport. Upon entering the U.S., he will be admitted as if he has a B-2 visitor visa, and again, unique to Canadians, his B-2 status is valid for a grand total of 6 months per year (as opposed to 3 months for other foreign nationals), which means he can either stay and visit for up to 6 months total (either through one very long visit, or several short visits, as long as it does not exceed 6 months). Keep in mind that this is strictly for visiting, no living or working allowed.

If not, is there a certain amount of time I have to be living in the states before we can apply?
I... don't think so? But you do have to show domicile, that's for sure.

Also, is there a visa that will allow him to cross to and from canada every day as his work is in canada?
Again, he cannot live in the U.S., he can only visit. His primary residence should be in Canada.

One option that I did not see coming up in this thread at all, however, is that he could do the reverse, where he can visit you often. He should look into getting a NEXUS Card (info here: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/nexus/how-apply), especially if your U.S. address is nearby by just a couple of hours (e.g. if he lives in Vancouver, BC and you live in Seattle, WA). This will make crossing the border for frequent visits with you much easier on him if approved– but he still has to live in Canada. This is key.

    Here's what I recommend, personally:
    - You move to your house in WA, he stays living as close as possible in Canada, since he still works there
    - He applies for a NEXUS card so he can visit frequently every weekend if he wants to without too much hassle at the border.
    - Come August 2021, after getting married, you apply for a CR-1 visa for him (As a former K-1 visa holder myself, I wish I did the CR-1 visa route myself)
    - Hopefully come Aug 2022 (about a year later), he will have a CR-1 visa in hand, and he can finally move to the U.S. to you, and he will be a Green Card holder immediately upon entry, which means he can start looking for work immediately in WA****

*** It may be possible for him to continue to commute to his work in Canada, since he will be legally able to live and work in both countries. Your taxes might be a disaster to file when doing this, but I *think* it's possible. Don't quote me on this, please do research.

You have to be very close to the expiry date. I did get an appointment but not until a few days before my letter expired. As in my app was the Friday and my letter expired the following Tuesday.

We are in same boat with trying to get infopass. I have read that some people have been successful getting the infopass after few tidies. When we called yesterday, representative told us that if we can show a letter from DMV stating that proof of status is required, they will provide an appointment. We will keep trying to get an appointment.
