    1) Right now so far, it has not worked for IOE/online petitions. There are some who have tried, but no response I’ve seen so far. But who knows, no harm in trying
    2) Imo, best to wait until after you’ve gotten the I130 NOA1. No point in sending an I129f if you get Texas or Potomac

Yes the I129f is the reason for quick I130 approval for many with LIN numbers (with other reasons being emergency expedites). Unfortunately so far there’s been no movement on IOE cases with I129f. But there’s always a chance and there’s no harm in trying as I129f is free with a pending I130

Even if you file by paper, the petition will still be an IOE being processed electronically as all I130 petitions are now IOE petitions, so it would be the same as an online. As of yet neither online nor paper petitions with IOE numbers have had I129f work. But like I said, no harm in trying

I have no idea of the number of chances you get, but seeing as there are very few options that Montreal will accept, it wouldn't be long before the only option remaining is for the USC to move to the US. Also, bear in mind that the medical is only valid for 6 months. So continuously responding to RFEs will make it more likely that a new medical will be required.

My guess is that would have more to do with the overall financial situation of the couple involved.

The point was though, that no job does not mean no visa. That should be clarified for people reading this thread in the future.

-There is never any "guarantee" to prevent a CBP officer from refusing entry for any reason.  The only guarantee against being denied entry is becoming a USC.
-CBP doesn't revoke a GC on-the-spot. If referred by CPB---- What happens is either the person is detained until immigration court or (more often) the person is allowed entry and then will receive in the mail a Notice to Appear before an immigration judge where they plead their case against removal proceedings.  In other words, CBP is not the one who takes away someone's LPR status---only an immigration judge can do that.

-The only chance one takes with leaving the country before the reentry permit is approved, is that it ends up NOT being approved---although more commonly they are for straightforward applications.
-Considering your friend doesn't plan on reentering the US until 6-7 months after applying for the reentry permit, chances are it will be approved by the time they are due to travel back.

Contact the US Consulate and cancel the visa.  DO NOT USE IT UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY INTEND TO IMMIGRATE.

Do not let it expire in the hope of getting a non-immigrant visa.  An NIV could be deny for immigrant intent even with an expired immigration visa.

    Hey guys!
Reporting in from Montreal - thought I’d give you guys a quick update as I did my Medical this morning:

I flew in yesterday, arrived around 6pm and checked into my hotel. I chose the Wyndham on Rene-Levesque Ouest. I chose this hotel cuz it’s close to everything I need: Medical, Consulate and the train station. I am going to stay here 2 nights then go visit family in Ottawa, and return the day before my interview next week! I love the location, there’s a grocery store across the street, as well as a shopping mall and lots of food options. The hotel itself is SMALL, the whole room is about the size of a small bedroom back home haha, but it works for me just fine. I paid about $140 per night. As far as I can tell there are lots of Hotel options in this area, so look around for the best price!

    MEDISYS MEDICAL REVIEW:
Medical appt time: 10am.  I arrived around 9:40 - was a 20 minute walk from my hotel
I got there and there were maybe 15 people in the waiting room. Reception was friendly, took my passport, immunization records, interview letter and 5 passport pictures. They keep your interview letter, I only had one copy so the lady was nice enough to copy one for me. You fill out some forms, you’ll need your intended US address and you’ll list your prescriptions. You hand these back, then you wait. The Dr comes and gets you. I had Dr Lapointe and he was SO nice. Friendly, he explained everything fully and asked lots of questions about how my husband and I met. He checks the following: eyes, ears, lymph nodes, lungs, heart, abdomen etc. It’s pretty short maybe 5 minutes.  You’re sent back to the main area - wait to be called for an x-ray. This is also super quick. Then back to the waiting room. Then I was called for eye test, height, weight, blood pressure and a blood sample. Then instructed to do a urine sample - Important: don’t use the bathroom an hour before your medical, or you have to wait in the waiting room for an hour. After that, I waited for my turn to pay and then was sent on my way with a reciept. Oh, and they take a picture of you as well. I said I wouldn’t be back in Montreal until Monday (Interview is Tuesday) and they said that was just fine. They will email me once it’s ready. Overall, an excellent experience. Every staff member I met was honestly so nice and welcoming and explained everything fully which I really appreciated. I was there a little over an hour. I’m relieved with how easy it was. I paid $461 CAD for it - I did not need any additional immunizations.

Now I’m trying to find a movie theatre or something to do today - it’s super snowy today! If anyone has any questions, let me know!

As long as you got your passport back with the temp stamp in it, i'm pretty sure you can travel from that point on, whether you have the physical green card or not.

Thanks so much! It is so amazing to connect with folks who are going through the same thing. At least makes you think you are not the only one going through this terrible process. I also pray for you. I hope the strike is over by the time you have your interview.

Praying for you. I am also stressing out about passport pickup as there is a postal strike in Canada. I have to fly to Montreal from Mexico and back then drive to the US in the middle of winter now... very stressful for sure. Good luck!!

Nope, not yet. It seems like December is unlikely now but I haven't given up hope completely yet. My status on CEAC still says at NVC and I called multiple times yesterday.  @darth vader, congrats on getting a date in Mumbai! Amazing!

Congratulations to everyone who has their interview date already and good luck to the ones who are still waiting on their interview dates.

I wanted to update you guys on my case. My wife & I decided to transfer our case to India, as we both were due for a visit anyway. We also got our interview date for December 14th at Mumbai Consulate in India.
