Card being produced at day 123!  It may be a coincidence, but my case finally progressed after I corrected some errors with the I-551 info on my USCIS online profile.  First, my physical address was blank, although my mailing address was exactly as listed on my DS-260.  I was able to update the address online.  Second, my name had extra letters "NMN" even though I actually have a middle name.  It was listed as "(FIRST NAME) (MIDDLE NAME) NMN (LAST NAME)".  The full name field was not editable, so I logged a ticket for USCIS typo error.  Hoping my GC will not be printed with the error.

Yup. Exact same situation. Just completed the visa process last year and moved back stateside last month. Not a problem whatsoever. The CO simply asked me during the interview why I had abandoned my LPR status and so did CPB at my POE because they also saw my old visa in my passport (it’s still the same, had it for 9 years now). Your A-number should still be the same because mine hasn’t changed.
And I believe we also put a date down for the first petition that we kinda guesstimated. We remembered the month and year, but not the exact date. Don’t worry, it’ll all work out just fine  Good luck!

Seriously???? By law, you should have filed for removal of conditions BEFORE your conditional green card expired.  You failed to do so.  USCIS says failure to file an I-751 package automatically abandons residency.  You might get lucky by filing with a letter.....but you might have to start the entire process again.  We are not USCIS, but we have opinions based on our experiences and what we have seen.  No one has ridiculed you.  I wish you had asked these questions 2 years ago.  Good luck.

Yeah, nothing showed up in my account either (I still had the same one after the interview though). I just tracked my status on CEAC where it said “issued” and that my passport was ready for pickup/delivery. The next day I got notification emails from ustraveldocs and UPS with a tracking number. Package got delivered the following day. I hope this helps.

Just read that now. Then your passport isn’t ready yet and they’re still printing your visa or finalizing something (called “administrative processing”). It needs to update and say “issued” for it to go into the mail.

edit: the consulate was also closed on Thursday (epiphany) because they follow German and American holidays (quite nice, right? unless you’re waiting for documents). The officer probably used Friday as an extra day off (Brückentag). Don’t worry, it’s just been a few days. I’m sure you’ll have your passport+visa by the end of the week.

No you can’t cancel his tourist visa.

The country makes a difference.  In most Consulates, current income is king.  In Mumbai, for example, they want three years of qualifying past income.  Your profile is incomplete.  If you want meaningful advice, at least tell us what country your spouse is coming from.

If your potential joint sponsor has a spouse, child, or other actual dependent, yes the household is three.  A roommate would not be a household member in this context.

Sorry to hear about your loss.  As for your visa case, you will need to inform the consulate that your wife has died.  You are no longer eligible for an IR1 visa.  But if you still want to immigrate to the US, inform the consulate that you would like to switch to an IW visa case for widow(er) of a US citizen.  You will need to submit a copy of your wife's death certificate and any other documents that the consulate may require.  Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the visa processing will finish in time for you to be able to attend to your wife's funeral arrangements in the US.  My condolences to you and your family.

I just visited a State completely run by Republicans and it looks like a third world country.
I'm just disappointed how the "system" failed me, starting by USCIS

Congrats.  It's a sad state with USCIS that you had to WoM to get your application processed while others got theirs within the normal processing time.

But, I have to admit, this topic caught my eye because of the numerous @Crazy Cat references.  I bet his notification is lighting up.  Hello, @Crazy Cat, hopefully this doesn't cause you to be crazier crazy cat.

The fact that you don’t know what that is shows that you didn’t do any research whatsoever. You also are not answering our questions about which exact forms you filed. I usually don’t say this but I think it’s best if you hired a lawyer to assist you in this process.

To be honest I'm kinda shocked how this even left SA so quickly. I traveled abroad recently and everyone was requiring vaccine certificates AND negative PCR tests no older than 72 hours. For unvaccinated people who were US citizens, the test had to be less than 24 hours. The airlines would not let people even get a boarding pass without showing the proper documentation. There's no easy peasy check in anymore with the instant boarding pass on your phone/print out at home, you have to go to the check in counter and get all documents checked and only then do they hand over the boarding pass.

Is it possible the PCR tests just do not work and someone can be infecting/spreading despite a negative result? Are people faking PCR test results? I'm just so confused. If we have technology that is supposed to detect infections why is it still not under control? I assume the UK would've had similar testing/vaccine requirements so how the heck did it get there? It's just baffling to me.

Online is faster.  No chance of "lost" mail, no chance of paper being misplaced on someone's desk, no chance of lost attachments, etc.

The interview date is dependent on when the parents' applications, AOS and IV, are completed and DQ'd during the NVC stage.  It does not matter if the I-130 petitions are approved at the same time or at different times by USCIS.

Sorry, but you get put at the end of the line again once you resubmit. Resubmission is treated just like a first-time submission. You can find the current NVC processing times on their website or join a thread on here (November 2021 NVC submissions or something like that).
Once your documents got accepted, you’re documentarily qualified (DQ’d) and NVC will forward your case to the Frankfurt consulate and schedule your interview. It takes 3-4 weeks to get the appointment letter from NVC after being DQ’d and then another 2-3 weeks until the interview. Good luck!

Don’t get discouraged by that! We were first assigned to NSC (1-7 months!!! according to USCIS) and then transferred to CSC (22-29 months; without notification btw). We were devastated. But in the end, we got approved after 7 months. I wish you a speedy approval! 🍀
