Can a f1 student sponsor trip for girlfriend on b2 visa?

Hi I’m currently a final yr medical student from India so I don’t earn. My Indian boyfriend (on f1 visa) gets 3000 dollars a month as his phd stipend and has more than enough money to support me for a 30 day trip to the US. Can he be my sponsor? He left last September and I really miss him. Any tips on how to convince the VO or what documents to carry? My father owns property and I am single child so showing country ties won’t be a problem. Also I’m currently engaged in an educational institution and I can’t leave it midway.

There aren't any sponsors for tourist visa. You apply and interview, they decide if you get the visa or not.

The problem is I don’t have money in my account for the trip. They’ll ask me who’s sponsoring? What do I say?

It's unlikely you're going to be granted visa. You're a student with no income of marrying age (I assume here).

Then how do I show ties ? My parents are dependent on me ( not financially) and I am enrolled in an educational institution in India and I have papers to show that . Am I as a 22 yr old expected to own property?

CO will assume u have immigrant intent as u r single and have weak ties to home

college is not one as u can finish college in the US

And why is marrying age a concern? Even if I marry my boyfriend…..he’s not an us citizen , he’s Indian and is himself on a non immigrant visa…f1. So how is marrying age going to affect ?

It is hard in your case.

 

If you were married to somebody in India and had children, that would be a strong tie.

 

If you owned a property in India that would be another tie.

 

If you had a well established business that would be a good tie.

 

If your parents were disabled / elderly and you cared for them, that could be a tie (though how would you travel overseas without them)?

 

The thing is, your chances of getting a tourist visa are small at this stage of life.

What if you come to visit boyfriend but instead meet and marry a US citizen? I know it sounds wild, but that's what US officials assume.

My father has also sent money in my account equivalent to around 6000 dollars for emergency funds during t

he trip. Would showing my father as the sponsor elevate my chances by any means?

It shouldn't elevate your chances.

There is NO sponsorship for B visas.   None.

 

It is doubtful you will get a B visa in your situation.

It looks like you don’t have any and you can’t show what you don’t have. Just apply, answer questions truthfully and see what happens. What everyone is saying here is don’t get your hopes up too much so you will not be disappointed if the visa is denied.

You have to overcome the already existing presumption of immigrant intent. It's not personal, but it is difficult to overcome when you are a young unmarried woman from a country with a high rate of immigration fraud. 

 

Just apply and hope for the best but expect the worst.

No

 

All you can do is apply and see, going to take some to get an appointment so maybe your situation will look better by then.
