Hi everyone!

I am a DV winner from Afghanistan. To get straight to the point, I have forgot my DOB that I entered in my main DV application, so when signing into my account and trying multiple invalid DOBs that I guessed I received a  massage saying "The case number entered is currently unavailable".

I sent an email to KCC stating this Issue with my case number, my name and my real DOB that is shown in my passport but the replied I got was this:

-----Thank you for your inquiry.

-----The date of birth you have provided does not match the case. Please resubmit your request with the correct information, as entered on your original entry, for KCC to properly assist you.

I have tried the whole 360 days of the year to be honest.

Now I really don't know what to do since my case number is also around 10k.

I know that the KCC would not provide me the DOB entered on my main application. But there must be a possible way to address this issue.

To add up, I have seen the video shared in the forum named as some tips on DV lottery but there is nothing said clearly how to solve this issue.

I would be happy to receive your kind response. Thank you.

If you don’t know your actual DOB, what will you do when required to produce an actual birth certificate?

A very quick glance to sign in shows you need  only YEAR of birth ..plus confirmation page and name ..

Am I  looking at correct portal ?

I’m thinking OP is talking about the stage after checking to see if they won… the logging in filling out the ds260 stage.

I see. ..but the problem is way bigger than a forgotten password.

OP even if u guess the wrong DOB, you cannot edit/correct it.

You must  convince KCC that the error was a simple /honest mistake AND if they believe you enough to update biographical data.  .you may have a chance to plead your case to the CO .

They are very wary of fraud…

KCC does not update biological data or any part of the submitted information.

Well, correct me if I’m wrong but the birthdate OP entered for DV lottery needs to have some logic behind it if it is different to passport birthdate. They need to know that Ramin Azixi with birthday 12/10/1987 is the same Ramen Axizi born 10/12/1987… or whatever the mismatch is… so even if OP manages to access their entry they’ll need to show they are the same person and they didn’t buy the winning entry off another Afghani…

ETA this is why I suggested OP @Ramin Azixi use birthdates they’ve used in the past

Thank you. ..a quick web search indicated KCC has at times been helpful  . I don’t have hands on for this scenario.

USCIS says to call KCC u need DOB

Contacting KCC: If you need to contact the KCC, always include your name, birthdate and case number exactly as they appear in the Entrant Status Check (ESC)

Many countries still don't issue a birth certificate at birth and some like Moroc use a family book (which they fail to keep up)

they go to clerk for a 90 day birth certificate every time they need to get a formal document like national ID .  In our case Adil had to get new birth certificate for our marriage application,  new one for passport,  new one for immigration

And moroc has better record keeping than many but its still  behind the US

Did you buy your DV win from someone who shares similar name? Or since Afghanis have same name, used multiple fake DOB on entries and one won. Either way, you're not getting KCC to tell you your DOB.

Seriously, how can you not remember your DOB? I'm sure you have national ID and additionally, people in your country have successfully come to US. So, they have BC and specific DOB.

You're trying to outsmart the system. You're not going anywhere. Sorry.

Yes.  Every person has one real DOB. Yet, OP just can't remember which DOB he used for this..... I have no words.

And I know "buying DV" exists.

Back in the predominant cyber days, the cyber agent played for my mom. She won. The agent then started demanding fees and mom paid. Unfortunately, she never got the DV. I guess he sold it to highest bidder who may or may not have been successful in using it.

He was the one who got the email confirmation. So he was controlling everything.

This was in 2001/2. I remember mom talking about all of us going to America 🇺🇸!!!!!

Wonder if mom really won or if anyone really won… maybe the highest bidder encountered a similar error to our friend.
Either way if someone isn’t consistent with birthdays for things like this is better to document all your statistics.

She was shown the confirmation. But again, it may have been photoshopped or made up.

Perhaps if you step back and really look at the situation from our perspective, you will see why it screams FRAUD.

Putting in every DOB on the 365 day calendar to see if it’s “yours” is like trying random numbers for an ATM PIN.   You’ll never guess it, and eventually the system locks you out.

I admit I was sympathetic at first since I always forget passwords …sometimes my age if convenient 😂

But I cannot imagine a valid reason for using a random DOB.
