Hi Folks,

 

Not sure where this question should be posted but there seems to be a severe lack of entries on the review of the George Bush Intercontinental Airport reviews. Can some of those who have been through that POE recently post some of their reviews for those who are soon to be experiencing it?

I guess I don't understand what you're asking.  How are you planning to enter?  As a visitor or with a visa requiring a secondary inspection?

Its easy, just have your envelope that the embassy gives you to give to the officer at Houston airport.

will not take long to pass through.

NOID issued May 17th 2019

June 5th,2019   USCIS received my response on the  NOID// Addressed the NOID myself, No lawyer ever used in case.

July 1st, 2019  10 YEAR GREEN CARD APPROVED

July 5th, 2019   Approval letters for I-130 & I-485 received in the USPS  mail.

July 11th 2019   Green Card in Hand

In my specific situation, my fiancé will be entering the US on a K1 VISA. But I was just speaking in general terms as the POE reviews for George Bush Intercontinental Airport only has a single entry as of now.

I believe this is meant for the Houston Hobby airport & not the George Bush Intercontinental Airport as there is a separate entry for that airport in the list.

IAH typically has a lot (a LOT!) of international flights arriving all at once, between 4 & 8 a.m.  Go to the restroom before getting in the CBP lines.  The CBP agents know exactly what they're doing when they encounter a K-1 or CR-1 entrant.  They can be unfriendly & merely efficient, or (usually) unfriendly & looking to nail somebody.  I'll never forget how the immigration CBP agents mistreated Mrs. T-B. (a permanent resident!) after we'd had an exceptionally traumatic trip.  The customs CBP agents will either leave you alone (if so, breathe a sigh of relief) or order you into Secondary for a microscopic search.  Travelers then exit into the "international arrivals" area of the terminal.

 

There's my review of IAH.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Understood. She is likely to be flying in on EVA Airways which would bring her into the airport around roughly 11 pm at night. She'll just need to be prepared for whatever happens...I'll be sure to do a write up on our experience when we do.

The CBP agents might be too tired at that time to do much harassment.  Definitely write it up, both in the reviews and here.

 

At least you shouldn't have much traffic on I-10 going home to Katy.

You would think...but it has varied on my last two trips. Once I was able to make it home before midnight & on our last trip we didn't get home until almost 2 am. Granted it was largely due to the luggage taking a lot longer than usual to come out. 

 

And I've already talked to my fiancé about that drive home...that will be the longest drive of my life :😁
