Ok thank you everyone, abandoning Canada plans.

So per my last post I’m abandoning the Canada plan and looking to potentially relocate to live in Tijuana and work in San Diego, after filing the petition. My wife will also join me - thus moving as well. 
 

what complications might this cause? I can use a separate mailing address to continue receiving documents without missing anything.

Yes, I’d be in the same field just moving to tj. I’ve been in my field for 8 years.work would be in San Diego.

No problem then.  Once she has the visa, you can live anywhere you want, change jobs, whatever.

 

Whether YOU yourself can "reside in" Mexico is another question to research.  You can certainly live in San Diego and visit your wife often.  Countries don't generally allow people to just decide, "I'm going to live in your country because I want to."

It’s not a promise, if I was in San Diego tomorrow I’d have a job in 2 weeks max. My skills are highly sought. Are you trying to say I can’t change jobs during the whole process?

No I think I would go on the 180 day visa then apply for temp residency.

You’re doing this and you’re going to do it on cash assets.

 

Rule is 3X the 125% poverty level cash equivalent assets for a spouse based on your household size.  Bank it and you can do this.

 

I did it twice.  I know all about how how it works.

Thanks for listening. Is there any problem with me filing while living in Colorado then moving? I thought I remember someone saying you can’t move because you can’t change your address but maybe that was when I was looking at k1 options. We are married now so will apply for cr1

You are hoping after you change your mailing  address that USCIS will properly record  it. Visajourney is full of tragedies where this didn’t happen.  
 

 I suggest you get a usps or private mailbox in the USA that is in driving distance from where you will live in Mexico before you file I-130.  This can be your permanent mailing address. 
 

Or get a virtual mail box that forwards your mail to anywhere you want.
