  1. Just wondering if anyone would share what the interview email from the consulate looks like.. subject, body, etc. so I can periodically check to see if I missed it.
  2. And I basically won’t hear anything until just before that correct?
  3. Yep, taxes filed.. so as i understand it, I just sit in the dark again not knowing anything until about two months before the interview when they send a notification. I know there is a long wait, does anyone have any idea how long? From what I can find online it looks to be a year +-.
  4. NVC DQ'd our application and it is headed for the consulate. I tried to search on here to see if there were any notifications before getting our interview date but couldn't find anything. Is there anything I should expect or is the next thing we will receive going to be the notice of interview date? Is there any source of information as to when interview dates are being set for in Mexico?
  5. Update: amazingly, they Dq’d our application! thank you everyone for your guidance!
  6. Are you in the USA or outside? I tried from my wife’s computer and she could login. But I couldn’t on my phone or my computer from Mexico. I’m back in the states now and have no issues.
  7. OK I have submitted everything for DQ, so we’ll see if I was missing or have corrections needed for anything else as well. Thank you everyone
  8. The only way to get your police certificate is online. In order to do that, you enter your birth certificate id and one of your parents names. The system is telling her there is an error and it can’t be processed. However she tried with her brothers bc id and it works fine. She thinks that when she registered our marriage - they cancelled the wrong id number. It will eventually be fixed but it’s Mexico so …
  9. Is it ill advised to submit everything else and wait for the request for the pc? @appleblossom
  10. @pushbrk I asked in the forum and can't find an answer online. There is a hiccup getting her police certificate, we will be able to get it but in the interest of trying to move this forward, can we use the "not available" option to submit the docs to nvc for review and just bring the police cert to the interview? Thanks Pushbrk
  11. Can I submit the police certificate as "Not available" for the nvc stage then work on getting it?
  12. We are trying to order my wife’s police certificate thru gob, but the information won’t pull it after matching the mother and father’s CURP id. She tried her brothers CURP and that validated. She called in to get help and they were helpless. does anyone know if there is another way or place to call to get help with this?
  13. The ceac website asks for photo uploading. Are they wanting the actual passport photo they will be using or can this be changed later? Do I need translations from Spanish to english for the police cert and birth cert? THanks everyone:)
  14. My wife and I are in mexico and trying to login to https://ceac.state.gov/IV but after entering the case no and invoice no, it tells me that the request was rejected. Does anyone else have the same issue? Thanks, Kyle & Maria
  15. Thanks, @top_secret, it looks like a notary here might actually be the place that certifies a copy of an original document. I guess we’ll find out.
  16. @top_secret What did you submit with the w7 as supporting documentation? Passport? / copy of marriage license? I’m being told that the issuing agency here in Mexico will just tell me to go to a notary for a certified copy..
  17. Yep, that part is done, California has some different stuff. Thanks cc
  18. Thank you, this is what I was seeing as well.
  19. Thanks Jeanne, have the federal figured out. On that we’re filing mfj, sch 1 for her income & 2555. We’re a husband and wife Electing to be treated as ra for tax purposes. Under CA law I am only a part year resident. She has never lived in the U.S. As such (as I understand it) only the portion of my/our income that was made while a part time resident, is taxable. Is that correct?
  20. Ok so if she earned zero income while I was a part-time resident and we filed jointly, then she should not be required to report any income, does that sound correct, for California?
  21. Wondering if anyone knows this. If I file MFJ for CA it appears i have to report and pay on her income due to community property laws. ~If we file MFS, does she need to file a return, not being a resident?
  22. sadly that is standard here. Everytime I talk to one of my friends I have to hear about why doesn’t she just cross like all the people at the border… I’ve kept the number of people in the know, as best as possible to a minimum.
