Hello All,

Thanks to all who are here in answering the questions.

Back in 2015 when I was in college in Louisiana, a cop pulled me over because ONE of my car's headlight is out, he asked me if I lived in the same address as on my Drivers License, I said no (I was very new to US and didn't know that I'm supposed to change the address on DL). He gave me 2 tickets One for not changing the address and other for one of my headlight, a total of $300 approx for both tickets (Long time ago I don't remember exactly but it is less than $300).

I went to the court and the person in the court understood that the cop should have let me go with a warning but gave me 2 tickets, so, he CANCELED the Headlights ticket saying that it counts as MOVING violation and asked me to just pay for the ticket for not changing the address in DL(NON-MOVING VIOLATION).

Now my question is :

1. I already filed my N-400 online and in the citation section I answered NO for any citations, as one of my ticket is canceled and other is non moving violation. Do I have to mention about this to IO?

2. This was back in 2015, I have no paperwork/info regarding the tickets and I don't live in the state where I got this tickets. How can I get any info that this ticket is paid off?

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance.

Only offer info if asked. Don't be extra

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

My understanding is, the answer should have been YES. You were cited, even if later it was "canceled" (not sure you used the right terminology here).

Hello All,

I got two traffic tickets at the same time in 2015 in Louisiana, one of the two tickets got dismissed, and other ticket is non-moving violation for around $130 and I paid off the ticket in the court using cash. Now, the issue is I have no evidence to prove this, I reached out to Criminal and Traffic courts but they can't find anything on my name, I reached out to DMV they have no records on my name. What am I supposed to do here?

Thanks in Advance.

Get something in writing that says there is no record of traffic citations in that jurisdiction.

@Mike E any idea if email thread/communication works? I have an email thread with the criminal court asking about any records and they mentioned they don't have any info on my name in email.

IMO, USCIS will want something from the court house that has a seal of some kind:

* inked stamp

* embossed stamp, and/or

* official decal
