Hi all,

My wife filed her case back in May of 2019 (SRC) and her case was transferred to our local USCIS office which is in Charleston, SC. She already had her passport stamp renewed twice and about to renew again in March. They kept telling her she should get interview soon but we are still waiting. At this point we don’t even know what to do. It’s been almost 4 years and it’s pretty stressful. We have contacted our Congresswoman and the office said there’s not much they can do.

Any help or advice will be appreciated!

thank you all!

Agree with @Jorgedig.  File the N-400, if eligible.

My wifes I-751 got approved without interview 19 days after filing the N400. So I agree with filing the N400 to kick start the I-751. Could be a fluke, but who knows.

Like what others are saying, I would file the N-400 if your wife is eligible. I was in the same boat, as you. Filed my I-751 back in June 2019. Heard nothing about an interview and knew my file was collecting dust somewhere. Filed my N-400 on October 2020 and have now been naturalized. I-751s, for the most part, tend to be on the lower end of their priorities. Filing the N-400 can hopefully move along your I-751 finally. Good luck!

@Crazy Cat has had a similar timeline, but different field office.   He can fill you in, but it seems filing for N-400 when eligible is the way to finally see movement on the I-751.

Are you a USC?   Is she eligible to naturalize?

Hi, I am a US Citizen but my wife isn't planning to naturalize anytime soon. Due to family and other circumstances she is planning to keep her Korean passport and the green card as of now. Not like me, I can have dual citizenships in Taiwan so for her its a little different. She's about to get her I-551 extended again for the third time....

We have called the USCIS multiple times and spoke with multiple agents and they are aware that her case is way outside of processing time but for some reason they can not give us any updates at all.
