Not sure if this is the right place to post.

I fly to the US (into JFK) with my IR-1 visa next Friday. I start my new job in the US on the following Monday and they want me to go to Dallas for 2 days right away. Is it ok to travel within the US before I receive my green card?

Thanks

Sorry, just now after having my first coffee of the day. You don't need a valid passport to fly inland, just a valid ID such as a DL

Yes, you can travel.  Just carry along your passport with the I-551 endorsement stamp.  That is your temporary green card valid for a year.  You probably will not have you state driver's license yet nor your SS card (unless you already had them before), so your official government ID is your passport upon entry.

Must be a US state issued DL though .. and i doubt OP will have this .. so your first response was accurate in this case.. despite  the lack of morning caffeine !! Enjoy !

On domestic flights, there is no CBP or customs to pass through. You fly with whatever your airline requires as photo ID to board the plane. When it lands, get your luggage and walk out the door.
