I’m kind of concerned about the progress of my spouse visa application.

After I submitted the petition, I received a letter which is NOT regarding a pending case or immigration status.

I feel that spouse visas should be on top priority since the two married each other to be together….not remain apart for one year.

P.S. the case processing time is 10 months. Who knows it might take longer than that

Spousal visas are top priority. They are.

The problem is there are too many cases and not enough resources to reduce the time.

Spousal visas are taking 18 to 24 months now, not 10 months.

As frustrating as the wait times are, adding immigration to a marriage will always complicate matters and waiting comes with the package.

I often think how much easier my life would have been if I would have just liked my Dutch neighbor instead of my US husband! 😅

Hi Sarah,

Yeah, it sucks, no doubt about it. The backlogs are ridiculous and this whole process has been hell for my husband and me so I feel your pain. We submitted our i-130 on Oct. 5th, 2021 and received the approval on Oct. 19th, 2022. It took a full year to get the approval. And that seems to be around the average waiting time right now. We are currently in the NVC stage and waiting to be DQ'd/receive an interview appointment.

I wish you all the luck! Definitely settle in though cause it's a long haul.
