I’m happy for you, but I’m also pretty mad that this happened - obviously I’m not actually mad at you, just my continued annoyance, frustration and exasperation with USCIS. Nothing surprises me with these clowns any more.
 

You apparently submitted less evidence than most, and are from a country and region that it is no secret that the US deems as high risk, that is well known for giving extra scrutiny to all applicants from….yet you get approved in a month? 
For once on here, I am lost for words.

The "risk" for I751 IMO is more aabout countries with historical higher fraud than security risks. The security risk would have made more sense for I485 if that is what you were referring to. Not sure Pakistan has high marriage fraud rates in the U.S

If anything, posting this video on the same thread in which you’ve read some of the comments is rubbing salt into the wounds for those folks who have been waiting years to remove conditions. Just IMHO.

Honestly, I'm referring to both. Background checks are re-run during the I-751, as is the fraud assessment, as both are relevant. 

Compared to your average applicant from an average 'friendly' G7 country, say, Canada, the UK, Western Europe, and other large swathes of the world, rightly or wrongly, significantly more scrutiny is given to applicants from that region of the world with regards to fraud, and also to background/possible links than other countries. This is often time consuming - moreso than a lower risk application - and often results in the frustrating standard template ' due to security checks' letter in response to out of processing times enquiries from frustrated applicants. 

 

A month for an I-751 is completely and utterly ridiculous in the current state of processing times. Seriously ridiculous. 

To put that in perspective, a decade ago my initial DCF CR-1 (including interview) in London was under four months start to finish and that was ridiculously quick at the time, and I-751s were taking maybe 6 - 8 months back then from start to finish. I would bet now that the vast, vast majority of people on here have been waiting a minimum of at least 18 months/2 years for their I-751 if filed in the last couple of years with no end in sight - and an indication of this has been the creep in extension letter issue times in recent years. They used to be issued for twelve months and obtaining an i-551 stamp was not a common occurrence. 

 

As I said, I'm not mad at the OP, I'm truly happy for them to be free of this awful process that we are all so, so sick of.... it's just incredibly annoying and a bit of a kick in the balls for others to see USCIS once again making it up as they go, presumably to massage their figures, while making a mockery of others cases and waiting times, with ZERO accountability once again. 

 

I also appreciate that I'm angrier than most at USCIS, hence my rant-ish here, but my points stand. It is ridiculous.

Thank you.No offense, wait a minute you are from less risk country and still waiting. Not fair. Well that happened. I don’t think it matters where you from once you are already in US and resident. High risk, scrutiny terms are used once you are in overseas.Your concern and frustration is legit but I disagree on high risk and scrutiny statement. Wait for your turn and be patient. More important is you are US resident and you have extension letter which gives you right to travel and work. With that being said best of luck to you 🤞

Based on what I know about USCIS and how they determine risk, for marriage fraud from South Asian countries one of the risk indicators is marrying someone not from that region, particularly Caucasian, Hispanic or African American.  If they marry someone from same country of birth or descent, that usually cuts down the risk substantially in USCIS eyes.

 

As for security risk, I would suspect that's more determined by the embassy than USCIS.

 I’m glad your extensive month long wait, experience of and full familiarity with the process gives you the perspective to be able to say that. 
 

I have been very patient….for seven and a half years, and three filings…so far.

You should read the details in @mindthegap's signature to understand his frustration. He is not in the same boat as the majority of us waiting for I-751 approvals, where we are waiting 1-2 years with a valid extension letter (which is still ridiculous). He has been waiting much longer and has gotten the runaround for years regarding his ROC filings (yes, plural). I am pointing this out because you made assumptions about his situation in your post here.

 

The reaction you are getting is not directed to you personally, from him or anyone else.

What is weird is the dude is giving advice to others so that they'll get approved in a month or so (did not watch the video till the end so I could be mistaken). Anyhow I hope we'd end up feeling content and happy this process will end for us and sooner or later we'd have the condition removed.

I am not your dude. Nothing is weird here. you like this platform that’s why you are here .No one is forced to be here. Thankfully everyone is here for free advice from hundreds of going through the situation you don’t have any idea of. And anyways you are mistaken I haven’t said that you will get green card in a month or so. My point to make this video was more clear about filing right paperwork which not a lot of people think about that before filing or have right information and ending up stuck with USCIS. Nothing is guaranteed how sooner you get approved but filing properly makes your chances more than vice versa.

Waiting that long is ofcourse is not peace of mind. I’d say if someone is waiting for years ,taking legal advice from attorney would be best option at this moment.

Well, this thread is headed for closure.  My final thoughts before it is locked.  IMO the comment about risks associated with poorer countries is going to trigger some people, and rightly so.  It's another way of saying that white privilege did help.  I know mindthegap's situation is not typical, but I am talking about people filing from the "friendly countries" like Canada, EU etc.

Have you considered legal action against USCIS? Or at least spoken to a good attorney? That timeline is insane.  I've seen cases get miraculously cleared up within a month after just filing a lawsuit.
