Hello everyone,

I noticed  that the Poverty guidelines have been elevated. And it states that "effective March 1 2022. My question is that is it applicable to prior years filers having their visa appointments this year?

When we filed the petition last year, the guidelines were not as high as what it is right now. If we are a bit short of income of about $5000 because of the current hike, will the consular treat it the previous guidelines?

I have over $10,000 saved up. And I have a job I make over $2000 biweekly. Gross of $6000 per month.

Are we gonna be good to go? Because I don't have a sponsor lined up. We were good to go with the previous HHS guidelines

Thank you for your support.

How many is in your household?

https://aspe.hhs.gov/topics/poverty-economic-mobility/poverty-guidelines

For household of 8, 72000=6000×12 should be well above the 58,225=1.25 ×HHS poverty guidelines.

For Alaska household of 8, 72k is below the 72,863=1.25×HHS poverty guidelines.

If your household is 2, then guideline is well less.

Did I calculate right? Do you plan to live in Alaska with household of 8?

We are not household of 8 but gonna be household of 4 when they arrive. Which had been hiked to $34, 687. And I made roughly 30k cos I was away with my fiance till August when I started working.

Prove your CURRENT annual income exceeds the guideline by

1. get employer verification letter to write out your annual salary and job and permanent status

2. include copies of your salary payment slips to January

3. get bank reference letter to show your balances and deposits and how long you've been with the bank

4. Other things you might want to include are copies of assets like properties you own (appraisals, etc.), investment accounts, etc.

5. Include last 2 years income tax filings (and transcripts), etc.

Don't know if this link works? But this was discussed previously and in other forums and posts. Good luck!

Beweekly is 1000 a week x 4.2 a month

4200 a month not 6000

but still over 50,000 a year which u do not need to show until interview

u just were sent the NOA2 in January

and the interview is way off so you'll be able to show enough income at that point

I don't know what you are calculating as $4200.

I didn't say I make $1000 biweekly. I said I make gross income of $6000 a month. That's before taxes. After taxes... I get about $4000 plus as take home pay.

For family, I have one of my children living with me and the other 2 living with ex per court arrangement and he is coming with daughter on K2 visa. So we will be 4 in the household.

The interview is coming up soon.

Current Income is the deteriorating factor and it is based on

your CURRENT paycheck, so if you have a full time job , then use the 2080 hours per year ( formula accepted and used by govt agencies ) to CLAIM / SHOW YOUR current income calculation as follows:

 Example : Current Income =$ 72,000 year ( $ 34.615 hr x 2080 hrs per year for a full time position).

This will be more than adequate even if they consider the 2 ( court ordered support dependent ) children as part of ur household/ obligation.

You are a household of 6, you must count your kids even the ones who do not live with you. As @Family posted above your income is enough for 6. Just don't forget to count the two not living with you.
