There is too little data from an analytical perspective to think of this estimate.

"So, if we completed 1,000 Form N‑400 applications in the previous six months, and 80% (or 800) of them were completed within 60 days, then the processing times webpage will display two months as the processing time for Form N‑400".

Taking an extremely example:

#1 799/1000 petitions are completed in exactly 30 days.

#2 The remaining 201/1000 petitions are completed in exactly 360 days.

The site would show "80% of cases are completed in 12 months". Had one petition from #2 be adjudicated in 30 days, the processing time would reflect "80% of cases are completed in 1 month".

Statistics can be flawed. USCIS does not report out the median time it takes to complete an application. Furthermore, there can be so many variables for a petition to take more time such as RFEs, candidates rescheduling interviews etc. If you have a petition without errors and ample evidence, then the time USCIS may take to adjudicate on your petition may significantly reduce compared to what's on the website.

I agree, but the majority of us  are still unapproved

Well folks, I finally got lucky. WAC filer here. Had and RFE sent to me in October 2022(lost almost the whole pile of docs), replied to them in January, they acknowledged receiving it on Jan 10. Today as a part of my morning routine I clicked to renew the page for checking MyCase and it happily shines from there “New Card is being produced”.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO AWAIT.

Congratulations on reaching the end (for now!)!!

Haha, thanks. Yeah, now waiting for invitation for my N-400 interview, but it will certainly come sooner unlike dealing with I-751.

Wish I could give you a good news. Have you tried to check for I-751 timelines instead to get a feeling what month is getting approved?

My wife just had her N400 interview today and she passed. She said the officer first looked over her pending I751 case and was told he approved it but she should disregard any update regarding a card production. He then moved to the N400 interview. She passed the reading, writing and civic tests. The officer gave her a white paper where he marked that she has been approved. Now waiting for the oath ceremony. Good luck everyone and I hope you hear some update soon if you’re still waiting.

We just applied for his N400 and our I751 was transferred from the Texas office. He said it went to the NBC. I pray we will get a combo interview.

Same here, her case was transferred from Texas to NBC. I didn’t realize it was going to be a combo interview until she was done. I wasn’t allowed to go in with her coz the interview notice we received was for N400, no mention of a combo interview. Good luck

My wife just got a status update stating that our interview at the Chicago Field office on Feb 15 for the N400 has been Cancelled/De-scheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. We have a pending I-751 petition too that has been at "Case was received" for the past 480 days.

Is the interview getting cancelled common?

It is not common but I’ve seen it does happen to some people, especially recently. They will reschedule. Sorry it happened to you.
