Looking at the spreadsheets it seems like everyone outside of the California Service Center is looking at a long wait. Who would have thunk it))))

Edited by Carpe Vinum

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

I noticed that, too. You never know when things can suddenly change, though! Surprises happen - don't they? 😄

We've been preparing the paperwork all along! Our window opens on September 21, and we'll file a few days after that.

are there any downsides in applying for citizenship while an ROC application is in-flight?

I haven't heard of any, but I looked it up and found this which may be helpful. For example, if the I-751 is still pending at the time of the naturalization interview, the petitioning spouse must attend. Doesn't sound like a problem to me, just something we need to know.  https://www.dhs.gov/publication/uscis-processing-concurrently-pending-forms-n-400-and-forms-i-751

We are going to do it. My husband is eligible to apply on 10/31/22. We're not in a rush but will probably apply by the end of the year.
