Pentagon DOES NOT KNOW how many Americans are still in Afghanistan, or how many were among the 7,000 evacuated so far

And this is why USCs and LPRs should be signing up for STEP program just for situations like this. Makes it visible to that country’s consular section they’re there and have means to receive emergency messages. Instead, most folks only remember to do this if they lose their passport or need embassy assistance.

Even if the Biden administration knew how many people were there I doubt it would make a difference. The state department has already put out a statement that US citizens are basically on their own and no one is coming to help them. On the other hand the UK is actually sending troops in to get their people out. I know people in the military and the word is our rank and file troops are outraged that their commanders and the Biden administration wont allow them to go in and rescue US citizens.

Good on him!!

Here's another one, if anyone here wishes to support our American forces still working and fighting in Afghanistan.  Direct-mail via Amazon:

238691698-2977186805930970-6956665888849

This is from the Squadron Commander:
Moose Nation & Friends
First: THANK YOU for the incredible outpouring of support…it’s been overwhelming!!
Second: many have asked what they can do to help. Well we have hundreds of aircraft maintainers, security forces, bus drivers here who are working 24/7 while we also have CRG, and Soldiers/Marines in Kabul who are enduring long hours in austere conditions…they have all asked for the basic necessities—caffeine drinks (Monster, Red Bull, RipIts, Coffee) and nicotine (Dip) to help stay alert.
If you would like to help and donate something:
If you want to snail mail it:
Howdy Globemaster
816 EAS UNIT 61236
APO, AE 09309-1236. Amazon Prime delivers here.
Thank you all again!
**UPDATE***
Jeremy Farlaino was waaay smarter than I and set up an Amazon registry. All items will be sent to our location!!
https://www.amazon.com/registries/custom/1714Z14RZ003I?fbclid=IwAR1PFdaBhRcFSvSRymbhVMhB48AL0hOdPsLA67aUwDOKhLX03Zxp6--v_MM

Just so you know, the term "Howdy" has a special meaning in the airlift community. Also, the bears and coloring books you see in the Amazon Registry are being given to the kids that are being airlifted or delivered to Kabul where they have a lot of "abandoned" kids on their hands.

American stranded in Kabul describes trying, and failing, to get into the airport

ALLAHPUNDIT Aug 20, 2021 2:01 PM ET

David Fox works in Kabul, is married to an Afghan woman, and has a young son with her.  One would think that would make them a priority for evacuation, but there's a problem: The crowding outside Karzai International Airport is so chaotic that they simply can't get to a gate to make contact with troops or diplomats within.  [...]

Americans Stopped, Beaten on Way to Kabul Airport as Biden Claims They're Having No Problems

By Nick Arama | Aug 20, 2021 3:45 PM ET

[...] We have no information that Americans are having difficulty getting to the airport, Biden said.  Where there have been challenges for Americans, we resolved them, he claimed.  Completely ignoring the question about the safety of the allies, where there have been innumerable reports about them not being able to get through to the airport.

But as Sasha Ingber of Newsy explained, it's not even reality as to the Americans.

She explained that the situation was deteriorating rapidly and Americans are being stopped and beaten.  [...]

She's NOT wrong, and shame on you for suggesting such.

She just needs to... circle back.

ETA:  She is a disgusting piece of work for not only her ineptitude for the past 7 months, but especially so for her tone and attitude over this.  Americans ARE stranded over there.  She must feel so safe and secure, sitting in America and talking like that.

You are right of course.  Lying Ms. Psaki is saying no matter what we hear from those Americans actually stranded, she is in fact right in her assertion(s).  Why do they keep saying they will bring home those that want to leave?  Setting up a future lie?

Biden admin doubles down on Psaki claim Americans not stranded in Afghanistan

The Biden administration is doubling down on press secretary Jen Psaki’s claim that Americans are not stranded in Afghanistan amid the botched troop withdrawal that saw the Taliban take the country.

An administration official stood by Psaki’s claim on Tuesday, telling Fox News in an email that the White House is working to bring home Americans who want to leave the country.

"As the president and his team have made clear, the circumstances in Afghanistan are heartbreaking and we are bringing the Americans who want to come home, home," the official said.
