Heckling the preceding Vice President of their own party because he refused to violate the Constitution even when insurrectionists erected a hangman's scaffold outside, and sought to murder him and other congresspeople while storming the capitol.

Maybe they were chanting "Bang Mike Pence!" and they're his superfans who are maybe a little too obsessed?

They were just booing the fly still nestled in his hair.

Sometimes at the office I am told to I need to approve something so it can move forward.

And sometimes I don’t ignore it, and instead read what I am supposed to be approving.

And then sometimes I decide I don’t agree with what I am being told to approve.

And sometimes I am told I don’t have a choice.

And then I remind them that actually I live in an at will state in the USA and I am exercising my choice. And they can exercise their choice if they want.

Also sometimes I do approve stuff I agree with and then people boo me.  And then I call slate and ask them to publish an article about how mean people are.

Actually that last part never happens.

Does the constitution govern what you can or can't do at work or just federal and state laws, alongside company policy?

Yes the 13th amendment governs what my employer cannot do at work.  My employer cannot make me do anything I don’t want to do.

The 13th Amendment doesn't prevent your employer from imposing a "no fish in the microwave" rule no matter, how much you want to nuke last night's cod.

But there definitely has to be some type of  punishment for burning popcorn in the microwave.  Seriously,  you can hear that the popping has stopped,  just open the door. You don't have to wait until the clock hits 0:00.

If you prohibit burnt popcorn and fish in the microwave, you are a literal slaver. True fact.

But... I have a no fish in the microwave rule at home! My husband got some microwave meal -- behind my back I will add -- that was panko-crusted fish of some variety, and when I came back from running errands, it was.... everywhere. Every room. Unbearable. I opened all the windows and he said I was being completely melodramatic. On top of that, I am one of those people who closely monitors the seconds between pops when making microwave popcorn. (Really recommend the Skinny Pop brand -- awful name, very good stuff though.) He'll just chuck it inside and walk away. We have had words!

So now apparently I am also a literal slaver on top of everything else. Great.

You are attempting to make your husband do something he does not want to do. Literal violation of the 13th Amendment. Please turn yourself in to your closest death panel for further processing. Moxy has ruled.

Is there any difference when his AOS hasn't been processed yet though? Could I just yank the I-864??? :P

Oh wait, his visa is good for another year and a half, guess it's me who needs to check out. Then he can do widower processing and he can microwave fish and burn popcorn on his own.

You are focused on the civil liberties angle, far more concerning are crimes against culinary freedom.  I really think moving to the suburbs where an outdoor Genesis ii 4 burner copper enamel finish grill placed on an outside deck is the right way to resolve this conflict. But hey theyare young and the Urban vibe is their deal. Pro tip: Better to make reservations at Spago than to make your partner unhappy with Omega 6 odors.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."
