My husband's B1/B2 visa was cancelled when they stamped his passport for K1 Visa. Idk if that's the norm, but that's what happened to him.

Did they stamp "Cancelled" or something like that on the B1/B2 visa?

I just checked w/ my husband. He confirmed. Yes, it was stamped in light black color in big blocks over the visa: "CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE"

I was curious too at one point about dual visas bc of the 90 day timer that starts when u enter w/ a K1 visa, and we thought he could use his b1/b2 visa until we were ready to get married. But, I guess, that's how they designed it.

When was it cancelled ? Right at the consulate or POE ?

At the consulate in Kuwait after his interview. Then they sent his stuff for Admin Processing, then he got his passport back w K1 visa stamped.

It may have something to do with the K1 being treated as an immigrant visa by the consulates.  I don't believe you can pick and chose which visa to use at a POE (I could be wrong), and of course once you enter the US on the K1, your options are marry and adjust, or leave without marrying both options within 90 days.  Since the B2 was canceled without prejudice, if it ends up being option 2, the person would have to apply for a new B2.

Does K1 override my B1/B2 tourist visa ?

K1 is a one-time use visa.   You cannot pick and choose which visa to use at POE. The default is to cancel the B-2, whether it is stamped as cancelled, or not.

I remember somebody from Canada I think who was able to choose how to enter but I'm kinda sure that's not the norm. My ESTA was canceled right after I got approved for the K1.
