Local US CIS Office Review: New York City NY
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : April 21, 2021
Embassy Review : Me and my husband (applicant) went there this morning. Finding place wasn't hard. Went through security. Went to office. They asked for appointment document, they confirmed we were there only 15 minutes ahead of our appt. The first lady gave us a number. We waited approximately 1 hr. and 15 minutes thereafter. We got seen called in by a lady who was going to take our interview.

She was a very cordial lady, and our interview lasted approx. 30 minutes. She first asked for our govt. IDs, and his EAD/AP (and copies of it that we had already). She initially had an issue with our Driver Licenses being from Florida, but I explained I've been working on a temporary project in NY for approx. 2 years and provided proof of that. She was okay with that documentation.

Then she went through his application, asked questions and checked everything he answered that was consistent (i.e. same as application info.) She asked name, DOB, SSN, address, parents name, date of marriage, my DOB, and went through the back of the i-485 questions. She wrote any changes of his employment. At end, she had him sign the changes she wrote in. She asked for my tax returns and supporting documents.

She asked for documents that show our time during our marriage. I handed her docs. She glanced through them. Then asked my husband how we met the long / short version. She asked us about our families. She asked for pictures of us towards the end of her questions.

She informed us the process of removal of conditions, and the final GREAT NEWSSS!!!!!!!!!!! I'M APPROVING YOU TODAY, AND YOU SHOULD RECEIVE YOUR GREENCARD IN ABOUT A WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
