I printed my tax return transcripts from IRS website. Looks like they are masked. Is it okay to submit them or should I request unmasked version through mail?

also, if I am just using my income (w2 and 1099) for wife’s immigration, can I use the 864EZ form instead of 864? Does me having 1099 disqualify me from filing 864EZ form?

Appreciate your help!

Hoping it’s not the horrible 3 month wait people keep mentioning nowadays

The wait at NVC is frustrating… Unfortunately, save for expedited requests or @Budzmaroo's extreme luck, NVC seems to be pretty much consistent with its processing estimates and they do not seem to be improving. I really hope that they realise sooner than later that this is a systemic problem and take measures to speed things up, but in light of the massive DQ backlog, they might not be so keen on making any significant changes.

02/23/21: I-130 NOA1

05/05/21: First "Actively reviewed"

08/05/21: I-129f submitted

09/15/21: Unsolicited documents uploaded on the website

09/16/21: Second "Actively reviewed"

09/16/21: NOA2 (K3 Denied)

09/20/21: NVC Received and case number assigned

09/20/21: AOS and IV fees paid

09/27/21: NVC documents submitted

12/29/21: Documentarily qualified

01/14/22: Interview scheduled

02/16/22: Interview

I was going to potentially try a NVC expedite but it turns out that the DQ portion cannot be expedited, but only the part of getting an interview asap with the embassy after you receive a DQ. That’s at least what two different lawyers told me.

OUR I-130 WAS FINALLY APPROVED ON JAN 14th 2022 (PD Feb 9 2021) 😭🎉

I know the waiting is not over yet but 3 months at NVC sounds like a breeze compared to the wait at Texas Service Center.

If anyone has received their Welcome Letter recently can you tell me how long it took - also do you only receive the welcome letter via paper mail or also via email?

Awesome! Glad to hear it! We only got the welcome email from NVC, nothing on paper from them. We did get an approval letter from USCIS a week after it was approved online.

That’s awesome!! I’ve been thinking about you guys and the crazy wait you’ve had! Let me know if you have any questions ahead of NVC submission. Avoiding the W-2/1099 RFE and Police Cert RFE are the key ones for NZ. Looks like the consulate is turning interviews around really quickly now so that’s a plus anyway 👍

Seems like the DQ part can’t be expedited? A lawyer told me only getting an interview scheduled can be expedited (after the DQ). Is that true?

It can be expedited. The only way to do this is to attach a reason and proof of acceleration and send it to the specified email address of NVC.
But it is up to the consulate to decide whether to expedite or not.

Congrats!!
For NVC stage if submitting tax return transcripts - w2 and 1099 are not required. Do I have this right? Also, the transcript I have is masked (it has some information like part of my name masked). I hope that’s okay with NVC
Happy for all the approvals and wish speedy approval for the people still waiting.
