It's been insane lately to post but we were approved! Finally! March 26 - May 6! I was started to loose all hope. But it happened! I honestly think that it's due to the "outside of processing" request. It was the second one we submitted during this process and the reply we got was different than the first one.

Now onto the NVC - any clue how long that takes to get an application through that and to the embassy? I called my local rep. for help and they said it would take 10 months! Is that really how long it's taking????

Depends on the country. Afaik both Mexico and the Philippines have a long wait, im unsure about Finland though.

But most other countries seem to take just 1-5 months from Noa2 > nvc > embassy

But it says that the old version can still be used before June 27, 2022.

Since the Interview is June 1st,  I prepared the old one version Form I34 02/13/19, fingers crossed.

Yes, the new I-134 is a bit difficult because it doesn't save, so you have to do it all in one go. The questions are also worded subtly different, which can create some confusion. For example, Item 15 asks "income contribution to the beneficiary." We only need to meet the $17k threshold, but does one's full income get put here as 'contribution' nonetheless?

Could you let us know what you originally submitted to establish you met before filing? Typically, dated pictures, visas, itineraries, plane tickets, and hotel receipts are sufficient because they (a) show you two were together at (b) the necessary time. Think of the evidence as satisfying those two distinct requirements; a person could have plenty of evidence showing they were with their fiancee, but it does little to prove to the adjudicator that you satisfy the time requirement. It seems like that's what the issue is here.

Do you have any receipt/ticket that has the date and both your names on it? If not, the last resort is the sworn affidavits from U.S. citizens, but I would absolutely not recommend this being the only thing you submit.

Regardless, with anything you send for this RFE, I would also recommend writing a brief letter outlining your relationship that corresponds to what you submitted thus far.

Can you please explain $17k threshold? We only need to meet what? You mean there is income requirement for the beneficiary now too?

So if your fiancee is the only person you're sponsoring / in your household, you need at least $17k of income iirc (or 5x that for assets). The new I-134 is worded strangely and describes the supporter's finances as "contribution" to the beneficiary, which is kinda inapplicable as we're the sole source of support and will provide everything. From my understanding, there's no 'new' requirements as compared to the old I-134, it just seems to be less optimized for K1.
