Change of beneficiary country of residence

My fiancee intends to file her petition i-129f in March and she intends filing it with the Netherlands as the mailing address which is where I stay.

I might be moving to Germany before NOA2 is received...

Can my fiancee change the mailing address to German address after the i-129f approval so that I can have my k1 visa interview in Germany and not the Netherlands

Well in short she has to do the interview in the country of her residence...

Since both countries are in the EU and have a free travel agreement, I’d say technically its ok for her to move BUT she’ll need to make sure she registers as a resident of Germany within 3 months of moving there (required for all persons staying longer than 3 months) and it’s highly likely she’d need proof of this registration of residency before being able to change consulates and I have no idea how long that process takes.

personally, given the proximity of the two countries, I think it would be easier for her to keep her residency in the Netherlands and simply drive home for the interview. K1 is usually processed pretty fast, who’s to say that she wouldn’t of had her interview scheduled back home while your messing around trying to change country of residency and consulate and then have to wait longer to reschedule the interview.

Luckily, that's a fairly easy and fast process in Germany. You just go to the local city hall (Rathaus) and its residents' registration office (Einwohnermeldeamt), fill out a form and prove your residency by means of a lease/owned property. Then you'll immediately get a certificate of residence. Maybe takes 15 minutes total :)

Well in short,  incorrect.   The interview may take place in country of residence OR nationality.

YMMV

Then it should be easy enough, just list the embassy in Germany as the consulate

Well that would apply if she was a German living in the Netherlands, but there was no indication of that, so German residence certificate  would be required to use their embassy would it not

Either convince the NVC to do this (it used to be hard to catch a petition at the NVC, but these days most get stuck there) or if it actually gets sent to the Netherlands, you request a transfer.

Hello!

I have been through this same process with my fiancé who was a resident of Peru during the time of our filing. We changed his petition after he returned home to Venezuela. Our petition has been at the NVC for a year so it was very easy for me to have it moved. Once things speed up it will all come down to timing and whether your fiancé makes the request before NVC sends it out the door.

here are the instructions NVC provided me:

-Request via public inquiry form

NVC.state.gov/inquiry

-Enter required info

-In the question box you will need to type the following:

I am the petitioner and I wish to change the interview location to (insert embassy and country)

Attached is proof of residency

-Attach roof of residency to file attachment

if the petition is already at the embassy then the request must be made with them. I hope this helps!

I’m in a similar situation as OP but already filed. Can this step only be done once the file is at the NVC? Or can I do it before it’s approved with USCIS? Thanks!

For the instructions I posted, that is only for when it is at the NVC. If the petition is with USCIS and you contact NVC then they will tell you they can’t help until they get their hands on it. I don’t believe you can change it while it is with USCIS. It will need to be with the NVC or directly with the embassy :)

My fiancé application is approved, but he no longer lives in the country in the same country . He moves to another country, but I can’t seem to change the address.
