I am just wondering if there is a translation issue, there have been no end of interviews with people coming where they mention jobs, violence etc and then that somehow translates to asylum. It seems a coverall for wanting to move and nothing to do with its legal definition

 

Now the vast majority will not qualify for Asylum so what is the Dem plan?

So Old Joe and his administration has been a huge boon for all the human traffickers' pocketbooks.  I thought the Dems were against human trafficking and slavery.  Of course Old Nancy says it is all Trump's fault, but for some reason they are looking for volunteers to help out CBP/ICE.  Btw, I believe the story below is slightly wrong, I had heard the children cages Biden is using are way more than full.

CBP reported that since Inauguration Day, illegal border crossings have climbed to approximately 5 times what they were prior to Jan. 20, 2021. Border apprehensions have doubled in January 2021 compared to January 2020. These are the highest numbers in a decade.

The number of children crossing our border illegally is particularly harrowing, with the number of unaccompanied children crossing in February reaching the highest in our nation’s history. Due to these rising numbers, the Biden administration is being forced to put children into migrant detention shelters at 100% capacity, flying in the face of COVID-19 protocols and putting many at risk of contracting or spreading the virus.

Children’s facilities are not the only ones nearing capacity; many other facilities are filling up due to the surge at the border. Illegal immigrants are now being released into border communities, even if they wind up being dangerous criminals or having COVID-19, through the controversial practice of catch and release.

Biden conceded the surge "could be" worse than the one that prompted a significant crackdown from the Trump administration and threats to close the border in 2019 but said it was not there yet.
