Took mini-Dave to the zoo for the first time yesterday. Had put off going even though the San Diego Zoo is a really great zoo because we didn't want to go until mini-Dave was old enough to get something out of it and that we had the spare cash to get memberships (because mini-Dave isn't two and a half yet, and we didn't know how long he'd be good for; if you're members and you go for two hours, whatever, you can go home and come back another, but if you spent a lot of money on 2 single-day tickets -- because the kid's still young enough that he's free -- then you'll probably try to tough it out). But PRG's job is going well, so we went ahead. Definitely was fun. Also good for spending a lot of time walking 🤣

LOVE San Diego Zoo.  My kids are spoiled - they've each had a Backstage Pass experience.  Or maybe I am because I've been with each kid during their experience...🤔. I will say feeding a hippopotamus is a bit bizarre, far more so than the flamingoes who think soggy dog kibble is a treat.

Walmart has been putting out clearance shoes and sandals like mad.  You may want to check and see if there's any deals at your local store and if Mini-B is excited by any of the available options.

A lot of media hype about the coming hurricane that is still not a hurricane.  Too many people in a panic.  Lines at the gas pumps.  People grabbing water jugs and staples at the market.

I'm sure the hurricane shutters will be going up today.

Yesterday they said that the unnamed (at the time) storm was headed directly toward us and would be a powerful Cat 3 or worse hurricane.  I say that is a GOOD thing, when several days out they are predicting a direct hit in my area.  They are (almost) always wrong.  I do believe this storm will drift somewhat west and miss us.  Possibly headed toward TBoneTX!  LOL

I am mostly prepared.  Generators where started and run yesterday.  Chainsaw was run yesterday also.  Finished stocking up on gas.  Just need to secure all items in the pool area and will wait a day or so to shutter the windows and door at the office pending more accurate track prediction.

May need to make one more trip to the store to replenish the beer supply.

hopefully doesn't hit you! But better to be prepared.  We live in the country now so we can use the wood stove to cook if need be (and to heat water since we have an electric hot water heater) but we also bought some of those freeze dried meals incase we get snowed in.

We took Mini-B. to a county fair, first time for either of Two Guys man.

Not much was open, rather early after opening-time man.

Mini-B. couldn't stand the smell of the livestock*, wimpy city-boy wee man.

*the animals, like Two Guys, fart where they want when they want, si man

We regret to report that Mini-B. was rather bored, oh well man.

We were most of the way to FST, favorite small town man.

Took Mini-B. to lunch at FST restaurant, Two Guys man.

We regret to report that neither of Two Guys had any room for dessert, stuffed we and wee man man.

At the casa, mowed front lawn, 2 sweatbands consumed man.

Din-din was Costco orange chicken & spring rolls, ingest Two Guys man.

Movie night (the Many'th [2+2th] this week) was the next Many (2+1) episodes of Boba Fett, got a little better man.

Many (2+2+2) popcorn bowls were consumed, ingest Two Guys man.

This made 2 Manyzen -- si man, 2 Manyzen -- popcorns for the week, all-time record man.

It smashed the previous weekly record of Many (2x2x2x2 +2+2) bowls, eat our dust man.

Mini-B. visits Mama T-B. on Sunday, overjoyed senior she man.

We must help Uncle T-B. with his blood-pressure monitors, incapable senior he man.

This ongoing drama might wipe out all the rest of the day, oh well man.

And, AFV will apparently NOT be broadcast on Sunday, insult-to-injury man.

However, overall a great Two Guys week, conclude we man.

Got the pre-approval from the mortgage broker this morning. :) Now we need to figure out if we actually want to make an offer on the place we saw last weekend. It's a townhouse in a small development, three stories with 2 beds/2 baths on the top floor, living/dining/kitchen on the main level with a half bath, and downstairs a "bonus room" with a utility room off of it. This would be his office/hobby room/"crate" where he can banish himself when he is irritating me. (His idea.) There's the potential for another half bath down there. Tons of storage space, including his and hers walk in closets in the master bedroom, and crucially for him it is plumbed for an outdoor gas grill. So.... no idea if we really want to do press play on this but things are moving along.
