Despite COVID, USCIS adjust more/same cases in the last Q (Feb - June) than the last 2 Qs.

Q3, USCIS Approved 43,362 and Denied  1,747 ~ 4%, also the amount of pending applications are down ~7K from Q2 and ~38K from Q1

So far YTD (Oct 2019  - June 2020) USCIS Approved 128,106 and Denied ~6,000 Cases ~ 5%

If you consider that most of these denied petitions will be appealed and won, that pushes the denial rate well below 5%.......In my opinion, that is good reason to just eliminate conditional Green cards all together.  Just issue 10 year cards.

We don’t know why those applications were denied but I am sure good portion are clerical sucks as missed interview and/or missed response. Also a part gotta be withdrawn application. Another part gotta be hardship.

all that being said, I agree with you; however, there is no appeal. If you get denied by something other than clerical mistake, you go to court and courts are more likely side with USCIS.

so it is a mixed bag; however, they are pretty much spending hours and hours to find that 0.0001% fraud cases, which is dumb and inefficient

Another thing to consider, doesn't the number of denials include I-751s that were sent too early or missing key documents so automatically denied? (And then re-filed shortly after.)

Doubt it. Those applications don’t enter the system in the first place because of the date issue, same with wrong check, or wrong form

I have seen that about 75% of cases which go to the judge are won by the petitioner.

Just think of the positive effects that eliminating 2 year Green Cards would have on USCIS staffing.......

This would never happen. Just imagine each conditional resident has to pay 680$ just to remove conditions. That’s a whole lot of money to say bye bye to. Unfortunately I am 99.9% certain we will never see that requirement go away.

However, you are saving on average 250K hours spent on clerical work and officers reviews, and at least 30K hours on Interviews. So, you can basically, hire less people and save money too. If not, you can make something like every 2 or 3 Yrs you pay $500 to renew it, or increase the i-485/i-130 by by $300-$500, and then every 3 years, you must renew the card for $300 or so.

There are many ways to become more efficient, It is just they don't need to.
