Hello,

I am at a loss. I live abroad and therefore cannot request a tax transcript online (the IRS website does not recognize international addresses). I need it for my interview (whenever that occurs).

I have called 5x (since May) and requested them to send it to me via mail. The mail here is VERY unreliable and I have not received it.

I have requested it by mail 2x and have not received it.

They tell me they can only mail it to the address on file.

Is there any way around this? I feel as though I am stuck in a 1950´s movie.

Thanks!

Are you saying it doesn't recognize an international ISP?

The IRS informed me their website does not recognize physical address outside the US. I type it exactly as I have it on my tax return and it says it’s invalid. They told me they’re aware of this ongoing problem and one (who lives abroad) has to call to have the transcript mailed. But apparently I can’t get the mail they send. So I’m in a loop.

Have you tried creating an online account?  They need to verify your identity, which is typically via a US mobile phone number.

If you can create an online account, then you can just view and print your tax return transcript online.

I tried. But to create the online account, the website only recognizes US-based addresses. Thanks though!

After the 2015 hacking incident, IRS is very difficult with foreign address. There is no way around this.

I was out of town when I got to the NVC process and had to wait till I was stateside to get the transcripts, no real way around it, the callerid check is very iffy  too, that's the main part that didn't work for me.

My tax guy I just called who has over 30 years dealing with the clowns at the IRS said any decent tax person can get copies of your transcripts for you. Maybe you know a guy here that used to do your taxes, or can find one to do it for you. It just started last year, he sent me this...

Starting January 7, 2019, tax professionals who meet certain requirements may request an unmasked Wage and Income Transcript. ... The Wage and Income Transcript shows data from information returns received by the IRS such as Forms W-2, 1099, 1098 and Form 5498, IRA Contribution Information.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!
