The Lincoln Project has declared political war on what it calls “Trumpism,” promising to defeat supporters of the president.

Critics — left and right — have called the Lincoln Project “grifters,” noting that the founders of the effort have enriched themselves to no great effect.

Washington Examiner columnist Byron York mocked the Lincoln Project Friday for abandoning Republican priorities:

Never said they were irrelevant, I implied they were hypocrites which is very evident.  But hey, if one can get rich through hypocrisy, that is their and their contributors business.

of course they are hypocrites. people are just butthurt because they are trying to destroy trumpism. they will go back to being enemies of the left once that is done. they have made that very clear, and everyone understands it. if anything they are allies of convenience for now, nothing more. the ads are mostly designed for an audience of 1 to get a reaction and provoke. how successful they are is a matter for debate, it really doesnt matter. the efficacy of ads is something that is overblown in a lot of peoples minds anyway.

 

personally i found it funny when people were surprised that they supported coney barrett's nomination and installment on the SCOTUS..... well duh. they are conservatives.

That was the point of my posting this, they are not going back to being enemies of the Left now that Trump is almost certainly defeated since they are actively trying to move complete control of the Federal government to the Democrats.  As to this group being hypocrites, this has more to do with them doing this for purely personal gain, and not for any altruistic benefit of the American public.  They could not care less what happens in the long run as long as they get their payday.

so yeah advancing their profile is a byproduct of the publicity. it doesnt bother me.

 

they want to get rid of the trump enablers to restore the republican party to their version of it instead of just being the party of trumpism. i have no illusions about their motives. but at the same time if they want to throw money out and support democrats and destroy trumper republicans. have at it. free market economy after all.

As a self-proclaimed life long conservative who was apt to cite this group in the past, I thought you might like to know that they are not done yet.  GA is in their sites and they are very active in making sure the Senate goes to the Dems.  I guess I was wrong.

On the contrary they aren't doing so merely for the free market.. and they didn't flee the GOP because of principles. They are neocons, power and war is what they do, and Dems are run by neoliberals who are only slightly different but mostly the same. They expect to influence the Democrat Party, it's why you see them being attacked by AOC and co.
