we live in Arizona but we got married in Las Vegas for the K-1 visa timing. I was able to book with Bellagio and it arranged a limo service to the country clerk before the marriage and everything went fine for the immigration process.

He stated she's here on a tourist visa, K-1 is still pending back in Thailand. so nothing has been invalidated.

You are right.  Thanks for the correction.  The K1 tag in the profile confused me.

I would second or third the recommendation for Vegas.

We came in on a K-1 and literally got married the next day after landing on an informal marriage license.  Brazos county, Texas.  Informal marriage license is basically registering a common law marriage, which is totally legal in Texas.

And yes, any state valid marriage is accepted by the Feds.

$40, sign some papers.  Done.  Cheaper than Vegas, except for the gasoline, for you, anyway.  No wait time.  No residency requirements.  Did need passport information but its not like they check I-94 or anything.

@Mike V Yes that is the plan, To get married asap and then file adjustment of status asap.

@chiquitabanana We want to avoid virtual marriage just for a stronger marriage case for our AOS.

virtual marriage during covid is understandable and wont jeopardize your case

Has it been stated & documented by USCIS that "virtual marriage ... won't jeopardize your case"?

It won’t at least in NYC. They have program called project Cupid which is virtual marriage since the city hall still closed.

anyway it won’t stated in marriage certificate as virtual wedding. It is legal as normal wedding is

Immigration law is clear; INA 101(a)(35): "The term "spouse", "wife", or "husband" do not include a spouse, wife, or husband by reason of any marriage ceremony where the contracting parties thereto are not physically present in the presence of each other, unless the marriage shall have been consummated." Thus, it's acceptable by USCIS.

@Lucky Cat is a virtual wedding legal with USCIS?  Thanks.

As long as the marriage is clearly legal where officiated (Montana, etc.) and the spouses where in each other's (physical) presence or it was consummated. See INA 101(a)(35).
