Compiling co-mingling evidence, too soon?

Hello all, hope everyone is keeping well. 😀

We are due to file removal of conditions on my 2 year conditional Green Card at the end of January 2021. We are expecting a baby boy in Dec 2020🥰 so obviously our main focus will be baby which means we will be very busy! Because of this, we was planning on compiling all our co-mingling marriage evidence documents in the next few month's so we don't have to rush and scramble for all the paperwork when baby is here, one less thing to worry about!

Is this a bad idea as the paperwork will be a few month's old before filing or will this be accepted?

Many thanks!

It’s never too early to start preparing documents for ROC. We started gathering evidence as early as when my 2 year Green card was approved, July 2018. We even included some evidence from

my AOS package. USCIS wants to see evidence from date of marriage until present date. We still gather evidence now to be prepared for RFE/Interview.

Good luck! 🤞🏼

We compiled from the date we married, making copies and filling a folder all along. When it came time to file ROC, we just needed to organize what was there. The best applications will have documents dated from the beginning, middle, and end of the two year period you are covering.  As an example, three of our joint auto insurance forms from the first one (with both names) and including the most recent. Our first joint bank statement, two middle-ish, and the most recent.

Thank you both!

We keep every single utility bill we have received from the 2 apartment's we've lived at, the 2 signed rental leases, tax returns, I'm just not sure how to go about the bank statements as we made a joint account but found it easier just to add each other to our separate bank account's & we transfer money to one another for bills etc. I'm also on my husband's insurance & his credit card but the credit card has hardly been used recently, we just finished paying the balance off so I guess that count's showing activity? Our long awaited trip to my family/friends in the UK was cancelled in April because of the pandemic so we have no other vacation proof as evidence apart from an AirBnB we have booked for a private cabin locally for 4 nights, I'll add that in & obviously lot's of photo's since we've been married.

I was furloughed at my job & then quit, I won't be looking for work again until after I give birth because of the pandemic situation & being pregnant, so I hope this doesn't cause us any problems! Feel like a failure enough as it is right now.

You aren’t a failure at all. Times are tough. Keep your spirits up.
You don’t prove an income level at this stage so no worries. Proof of baby is great evidence, whether it be an ultrasound or family group baby photo or birth certificate. Whatever you have at the time. Think through about anything that has both names, or shows same address like driver licenses. We didn’t use actual credit card statements, but lined up our matching credit cards and ATM cards on the copier to show his and hers with same card number. I blanked out some middle numbers for, security.

Never too early. You should start gathering evidence from when you get married, by the time your ROC window opens up you'll have tons of evidence to choose from that you can send.

I started gathering evidence in October 2016 and filed my ROC in April 2019.

As others have said, it's never too early. It took me longer than expected to scavenge for all the papers. I had kept them throughout the past couple years, but even then, it still took me longer than expected to find everything and photocopy and compile it. Might as well start a dedicated folder or binder for RoC and you can just pull that out when it comes time to file.

Same here, I had collected evidence from the day I arrived in the US on my K-1 visa, so I had a TON of evidence. Still ot took sooo long to go thro ugh h it all, weed out what wasn't as important and then start copying and organizing it all..

Ugh, ROC is an interesting process. It has by far been the easiest form to fill out (no work or school history, no address history, no travel history and so on), the form that needed the least other accompanying forms (no affidavits of support, no travel or work authorizations and so on), just the most straight forward and simple one.. And yet it took sooo long to get it together because of the evidence of a bonafide marriage.

You won't want to stop collecting now.  Put a box aside and keep collecting until your ROC is due.  Put a notification in your phone as well so that you know when your window opens up. (You don't have to send the first day.) You will be busy with a new baby so adding these reminders for yourself and putting evidence in an easy to reach and remember place will help you.

Thank you! yes I will make sure to include evidence of baby also :) seems like I'm overthinking what we need, we have majority of it in our paperwork folders in our drawer. I will start making copies. Thank you for the idea to copy the credit card's, we will also do this for our health insurance cards!
