How soon after USCIS cash your check do you get text/email of receipt or letter in the mail?

Day or two to receive a notification and up to a month for the one in the mail (usually 2-3 weeks though).

you get the text when they enter the application into the system. it can take anywhere from 2-3 days to 30-60 days

This is generally the case, but should they expect to get anything from a USCIS office right now due to COVID office closures?

USCIS offices are not closed (except for in-person appointments, interviews, biometrics, etc.). They may be running on limited staff but they’re certainly processing applications.

Ok thanks! As a point of reference, my AOS application arrived at a USCIS office on July 2nd, 2020. 13 days later and USCIS hasn't cashed any money orders or given any notice that they've opened it. Its probably sitting in a huge backlog pile of boxes at the moment.

It took us 3 days to received the message after the check was cashes.

Each day someone is reporting that they received their NOA2 from USCIS. Somebody has to be working for this to happen. Just saying.

We filed a k1 last October and the cheque was chased after a day of them receiving it and out noa1 was sent out about 10 days or so later.

 

we have since cancelled and filed to AOS and my package was delivered on the 4th or 5th of this month but my cheque hasn’t been cashed yet. I know it’s a different visa but I imagine there are some delays and backlogs. If you don’t get anything back in the post or don’t have your cheque cashed over the next few weeks, I would call. (That’s what we’re doing 😊)

Did you enter the US on an ESTA visa then marry and are now applying for AOS?

Thank you! A number of people did so after my original post back in March! I'm sure it's a common enough thing happening right now!
