yeah more than I was expecting:

1. Where did you meet?

2. You had not planned to meet, it just happened by chance?

3. Your husband lives in Australia?

4. Is he here right now (as in the country)?

5. How long has he been here?

6. Will your husbands job cover your health insurance?

7. Do you have any criminal convictions?

8. Why are are you migrating to the US?

Gee they asked you alot! They basically only asked me how me and my partner met, what he does for work and when I saw him last

So today I emailed the consulate and for the first time I did not get an automated email back saying my email has been received and giving me an email case number. Does this mean it didn't go through? I'm unsure whether to send it again or not. I also don't want to be a pest if they did in fact receive it. Has anyone had this happen before?

ARGH!! So the embassy asked us for more documents, and gave us a week to upload before they would send us a date.

They emailed this afternoon, at 430 pm Sydney time, saying the interview is TOMORROW, which of course my husband won't be at because he's in the middle of Queensland... (Not to mention no medical since they hadn't given us ANY date prior). I just can't with this process...

Sorry about that. But what additional documents did they request?

I hope everything gets settled properly.

They requested our 2019 taxes (mine and my sponsor's), our assets, and tax transcripts. Then they asked us for birth certificates and marriage license. (We still can't figure out why they asked for those since those are some of the first documents uploaded)

Were you able to reschedule the interview appointment?

My case status is "Ready". My case arrived at the Consulate yesterday from NVC. Haven't heard from the Consulate since it arrived but wanted to email them today about a couple of things.

I didn’t always get an automated email back straight away. Sometimes it was delayed. You can send again, or check your “sent” box.

So far no word from the embassy. It's been almost 24 hours (one full work day), so I'll update when we get anything

Maybe I will wait until tomorrow. It looks like it is sent from the sent folder. I sent it this morning so it has been quite a few hours and usually I got an automated email back immediately saying it was received. Hopefully I hear from them soon! They haven't responded to my email from last week so I'm unsure if that affects things (like maybe if you have an email case still open then any new emails just get added to that and so you don't get a new email case number? I don't know, I'm thinking of all possibilities hahaha).

Sharing some hopefully good news for K1 visa interviews from the State Department today:

Important Notice for K visa applicants affected by COVID-19

Last Updated: August 31, 2020

Effective August 28, as it becomes safe to resume more consular operations at each U.S. mission, posts are authorized to give K visa cases high priority.  Applicants should check the website of their nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate for updates on what services that post is currently able to offer. The I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) is typically valid for four months; however, consular officers may revalidate the I-129F petition in four month increments.  For most cases impacted by the suspension of routine visa services or COVID-19 travel restrictions it will not be necessary to file a new I-129F petition.
