We have discussed this issue in this thread. Why are you so surprised that what you read and what is actually happening is the same? Or is this just a case that you needed to rant? I'm simply curious.

I didn't see the discussion in a prior thread.  Maybe, I did need to rant.  Thanks for listening.😁

Go to the first page of this thread and in the first post I give you a link to a PDF file that talks all about the next steps. After reading it and you have questions come back here and post. Nothing is moving from NVC to the embassies so you won't find much that you can do now other than start to become knowledgeable about some of the things you may do now. Good luck and stay engaged.

Called NVC today they've received my case!

I have the Invoice and Case #, I really don't know the difference yet, I will look on the pdf for info.

Anyways, they told me my case will be sent to the Embassy til they open =\.

I posted this in the COVID forum as well, but I did receive notification from the NVC overnight my time (Sydney, Australia) that my case has been forwarded to the Sydney Consulate.  I checked on the CEAC website and found the case to be showing as ‘In Transit’....so I’m now cautiously hopeful that the consulate receives it quickly and they are able to slot me in soon!!  My goodness it was a massive relief to finally hear something.

I don’t know if this means that the SYDNEY Consulate is now taking K-1 Visa petitions for appointment, or my request to have the case forwarded out of compassionate reasons has been authorized.  Either way, I’m so ready to move home.... and I know that this is a HUGE step in the next part of the journey.

Paperwork to be received at the consulate...

Then get the interview date...

Book the medical and hopefully get that in time for the interview...

Have the interview....

Wait for Passport to come back to me..

Apply for exemption to LEAVE Australia...

Book flight...

Hope flight doesn’t get cancelled.....

Still got a ways to go... but we’re getting there at least. :)

@Daniiela11 That's great information. If you don't mind, I'd like to start including that in the first post of NOA1 monthly threads moving forward.

Hi @Greenbaum

I need some help with my case, maybe you can help me? Me (Brazilian) and my fiancé (American) started our process in January.

We got the NOA2 on May, I’ve called and got the case number and ID, and filed the DS-160 but we still haven’t gotten the Welcome Letter..

Is there something I can do now? Pay fees or send documents? Or we need to wait the welcome letter?

Thank you!!

Welcome letter will not come till your case file is sent to the embassy and that won't happen till the file is requested and received to your embassy. Nothing you can do but wait some more.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Thanks

Just finished it. Sorry I’m new here so I didn’t know that.

Still don’t see my flag but I’ll figure it out!

Thank you so much @Greenbaum!

Thank you so much @Greenbaum!

If you are on a phone you will not see the flag but your country will appear as a link at the top of your posts. I can see your flag so you are fine. Thank you.

Does the petitioner or the beneficiary gets the notification from NVC when the case is sent to the embassy?
