Hello everyone! I checked our case status in our K1 Petition few minutes ago (just updating). Im so surprise when it said our petition was approved and sent an approval notice. I called my fiancé immediately and freaked out why he or why he didn't get any email if its already approved (we update almost everything). My question is, is it normal to have  delays that long? Does it happen also to others? Why? Its March 16 my date and it said in the tracker to call the USCIS website if we didnt get any notice until the 27th of March.

Thank you and Godbless!

The petitioner is notified by snail mail....not the beneficiary.....it takes a while.

I'd like to invite you to join a thread that speaks about the "next" steps and how to follow your case with tips, tricks and hacks contained on the first page, first post of this thread. We discuss a lot of what happens at this stage and help you to be more informed as your case file travels to your embassy.

Also, we need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

am I missing something?  it is March 16,, she said last March, meaning a year ago March? Doesn't that mean the K1  visa is no longer valid?  How did you wait a year??

Im sorry if my english confused you, I mean last March 12, 2020 and now its March 17 (my date in Phi). I thought that my fiancé will going to have an immediate letter or any notification after the approval of our Petition NOA2 just like our NOA1. Then few replied that my fiancé will going to get a snail mail soon and im fine now 😄😊. Im sorry.

You expected the notice to be delivered less than 4 days, two of which were Saturday and Sunday (and mail is not delivered on Sunday in the USA, normally).

That's not how America works, sorry. That's not how most countries work.

VISA issued on February 26, placed on hold 27th, no word on final approval since. Now caught up in this virus mess.  Hard to figure out how bad things are at the EMBASSY but it appears something is going on and it is not good.

First of all Im sorry, and i dont know if u saw my response to others how excited and confused iam how it would tell us cos i thought it would be the same in our NOA1. Im glad that there are few people here who let me understand how it works in NOA2, this is my 1st time. Anyway same in my country it doesnt work that way too (i guess). Thank you.

Relax.   The NOA2 can take a couple weeks to receive.   After that your case file is forwarded to NVC where it can be another month before your case file number is issued and the case file is then forwarded to the embassy.

First .. jump over to the Philippine forum as the process for the Philippines is different than other embassies.  See you HERE  ;) >>     https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Once NVC has your case file # for the Philippines ( MNL# ) you will want to email NVC requesting your case file number.  Info HERE (under the K-1 section) >> https://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/nvc.html

You will need a copy of the NVC email/letter for your medical at SLEC (petitioner should email you a copy), info HERE >  https://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/medical---slec.html

Once your case file is at USEM here is the guide for Manila   https://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/us-embassy-usem.html
