A job offer supports an application for expedite, most I see on here fall under severe financial loss.

Hi Pooley, I have also seen and heard of cases that a job offer supports grounds to expedite.

Best of luck and don't freak out; it will all work out :)

I have not read all the replies so sorry if I am repeating myself... Are you sure you had the wrong case number? Sounds strange that USCIS would give you information based solely on your case nr. Usually they want to verify that they are talking with the correct person by asking for your full name, A number and home address or something similar.

You can input a case number into the online case status website and it will show you the status of the case, even if it's not your case. Some neurotic people actually check the case numbers of cases submitted around the same time as theirs by tinkering with the last number or two and plugging in other numbers and seeing if others who submitted applications around the same time have gotten approved.

There is no "two factor authentication" to check the case status on the USCIS website.

I know but she mentioned she actually called USCIS who does require you to verify that you are who you say you are. They should have noticed that the name, A number and home address she told them did not match up with the case number she gave them.

Ah, OK. That's a good question. I don't know how you call USCIS and get info on the wrong case or why they would have called back the next day.

See my post above.  USCIS gives the right case number but then the applicant inputs it incorrectly into the case status tracker.

Well yes,  I can see how that would happen.  Wasn't really described that way.

I honestly don't understand why they'd expedite on the basis of a job offer without there being some sort of serious, unexpected financial burden that had befallen the applicant

Not directed to the OP, but it is shocking that to so many K-1 couples, the inability to work right away comes as an "unexpected financial burden," and yet they cannot be dissuaded when they come here for advice because "we don't wanna wait to be together."
