Good morning all! So based off of what I was seeing in the February thread I decided after 15 days  from when I got my noa2 I would try calling NVC,  and I got my case number!😁 She advised it has yet to been forwarded to the embassy but I should get an email when it does, so we shall see.  I'm trying very hard to stay positive and optimistic thru this whole world wide shutdown situation ,  but today is good news. Also only held about 5 mins before someone picked up which was awesome. Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Yaaaaaa I'm following you all the way!

You’re the best!! (And @Greenbaum of course)♥️

I think it will be very interesting to see how long things will be at a halt. Non-emergency appoints in the DR are suspended until further notice. I really hope it doesn’t turn into a nightmare for everyone (Embassy staff included), to bounce back from this. I can only imagine the backlog they are going to have. Yikes!

Packet Sent 10/18

Delivered to Lockbox 10/21

Fee Paid 10/25

NOA1 10/25

Thank you.

I was also thinking about the backlog. USCIS is still approving cases and I am sure ppl are still submitting them at the same pace as before so look out for the on slot of delays at NVC and Embassies. I see a night mare coming.

Me too. But I’m mostly worried about my case expiring at NVC now.

I am worried about this too but I imagine they would extend it due to the circumstances. However, only time will tell.

I hope so but I’ve seen so many people say that’s impossible already and they won’t extend it. Someone said the Spanish US embassy told them they’d have to start the process again.

I was just wondering, to actually expedite your case at NVC and then the embassy do people have to send an email to the embassy or to NVC? It would be for military reasons as well as financial ones.

This is a very difficult time for everyone and we’re not completely sure we’re going to do it considering what is currently going on worldwide but I figured I would ask as I’m not really sure about it.

Well, it's like throwing a hand grenade. You really don't know what will happen till it happens. Send and email to NVC using askNVC. Details are in the PDF file and it's the same form you used for that time you notified NVC of your email address. Just put your request in the box without your beneficiary's stuff. Just need full name, DOB and any receipt number you have from the NOA2.

The embassy can't do anything because they don't know who you are until they get your case so that would be wasting your time.

Next and last that I can think of is to call the USCIS military help line.

USCIS has established a toll-free military help line exclusively for members of the military and their families. USCIS customer service specialists are available to answer calls Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (CST), excluding federal holidays. After-hours callers receive an email address that they can use to contact USCIS for assistance.

Thank you so much! My fiancé is the petitioner and he has been handling everything, but couldn’t really find this information. He had already used the military helpline and it was actually really useful. The only issue is that as stated in one of my previous posts in another thread, we were approved literally on the day when we did submit the request and USCIS told him it was now a NVC matter. But we can definitely try and see what happens. Again thank you so much for your response!

Those in the military I have their back. I was in the Navy, my SIL and his brother are in the Navy and my step son has the desire to join the Navy when he finishes HS next year. We stand PROUD.

I'm glad some of the tips are working for you. This is an elephant and in order to eat it, it has to be done one bite at a time. So get the tiny wins and the big one will arrive. Let me know if I can help in the future. Thank your fiance for his service. Salute!
