MARCH 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to Embassy

I have been going back and forth between NVC and the Bangkok embassy regarding the expedite process. My petition had been at NVC since the end of March, I am coming up on oconus military orders and want to make an expedite request. However, NVC is telling me they cannot process the request as the case is ready for shipment, that only the embassy can request the expedite. The embassy is telling me the exact opposite, that NVC must process and accept the request before they can ship it..... I feel like I am caught in bureaucratic limbo.... What's the right answer?

No need to feel nervous. If you have come this far than you are a part of the 98% approvals. You really at this stage must have demonstrated that you are a "really bad" guy. So, relax. Fill out the paperwork and go to the interview. BTW most are only in front of the CO for 5 min because the CO has already made up their minds on your case.

Update for the March crew,

I had my interview today in Montréal 🇨🇦 And I got that glorious pink paper and was approved today! Should get my passport back in 7-10 days and now my fiancé and I get to move to planning my move in January! 🥳

Congratulations! Music to your ears I bet.

Check over the visa to be sure there isn't any spelling errors. If there is contact the Embassy for further instructions. Keep the "do not open" pouch in the plastic and stowed away in her carryon luggage. Luggage does get lost and without the "do not open" packet it will be a difficult problem for her at immigration once she arrives at her POE.

Do not sell your house, car, or property, resign from your job, or make non-refundable flight or other travel arrangements until you have received your immigrant visa.

Good luck and stay engaged and safe travels.

Hey guys,

Hope everyone is doing okay.

As far as I can tell, our case arrived to the Bogota Embassy back in April. Since my fiancee (Venezuelan) now lives in Ecuador, I've been trying to send the case to the Embassy in Ecuador for months but kept being told that everything was shut down because of the pandemic. Finally on September 3rd I was able to get in contact with someone regarding the transfer. They told me in normal situations the transfer request may take two months. At the end of September they told me that they requested our case from Bogota but couldn't give us a timeframe as to when it will arrive. I followed up two weeks ago and they said they're still waiting for the case to arrive. I followed up again yesterday and they are still waiting. Our CEAC status has said "Transfer in Progress" for since the end of September.

Hopefully the case will be received soon but I have no idea if the case has even left the Bogota Embassy.

Hard to believe it's already been a year since I started preparing to send out the petition.

Anyway, just wanted to give everyone an update. I know my situation is a bit atypical but hopefully this helps someone.

A month later and our case still hasn't arrived at the Embassy. I have no idea what's going on. Feel very helpless

In your original post you stated that they told you it would take upwards of 60 days. Now it's only been 30 days since your request to have the file be transferred. You're still within the timeline that the embassy told you. Just saying.

It's been 3 months now since my request and the case has said "Transfer in Progress" in CEAC for just over two months now. I'm starting to feel like the Bogota Embassy still hasn't gotten around to send the case.

Ready

The status indicates that information (such as photographs and fingerprints) need to be taken or that an interview needs to be scheduled.

this is what you can find on different website online. so maybe a good news coming soon! Finger crossed and keep us posted!

01 indicates you are the primary K-1 on this application. If you had children then they would be 02, 03 ....

NPL is the nomenclature for Naples embassy.

There is no concern here.

The "Ready" condition is that the file is at the embassy and they are preparing to contact the beneficiary with their "letter", which is commonly referred to as the P3 letter. These will be the instructions as to what documents, what forms need to be completed, the interview payment and scheduling as well as indicating that the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application should be completed prior to the interview.
