But I guess you can get a driver's license right? That should be enough, and I believe you can get one without SSN

I tried to get state id ( colorodo) and they haven't given me. They can give only if I have ead plastic card or gc. Same for driving licence

Got this email response from Robert Cohen this morning who is one of the lawyers handling the EAD delay class action lawsuit. While we already came to know of the interim rule of using EAD approval notice as evidence for I9 verification, he also mentioned that:

 

If USCIS has determined that you need biometrics, you should have already been scheduled for an appointment.  It is important that you keep that appointment, and the card should be produced and mailed within 7 days after your biometrics have been captured.

I couldn't get one without the EAD. Depends pretty much on the state

I wouldn’t put a grain of sand to that though. So many people have had biometrics in the last two to three weeks and have no approval or card update yet.

I'm guessing this is only for people who already had approvals before biometrics, but then have since had biometrics done?

This would only be for those who already got their approvals prior to biometrics, I’m guessing.

Yes. This is GREAT news for so many. It is another crushing blow to the many February filers who got jumped in line. The February biometrics reschedules were jumped in line by the May June July new schedules. So, if you do not have EAD by today (Aug 20) and do not have biometrics done by August 30 (furlough) you are completely screwed again. That’s us. And it’s many more. Plan for zero movement on any aspect of our cases or ability to work through the end of 2020.

And it will only get worse depending on the outcome of November’s elections.

 

It is that bad my USC spouse had decided to file for a PR visa to Canada as a backup plan. 😅😅😅

What is a PR?  Can it be done from the USA?  I am the USC lifetime citizen spouse and it’s maybe not a bad idea to look at Canada. This Inept USCIS process is making me question everything in life.

Yes, definitely. We just filed this week via Express Entry which is heavily based on experience among others. Once your EE profile is submitted and granting that you qualify, you’ll be put into the pool. Drawing is based on a point system. The higher your score is, the better.

 

Once you get drawn, you’ll be able to apply for PR visa (permanent residency).

They said the same thing in Maryland as well, after arguing with them for like an hour they give us non real state ID for 8 years.

Processing time for EAD marriage based 28.5 Months to 37 Months for I-765. Well.....
