We've received our NOA1. Date on the receipt is Feb 3rd. We are now able to use the number to track our status although there's not much to see just yet. :) So excited!

It takes 3-4 weeks to receive a NOA1. Be patient, it's going to be a long process and your only at step ONE.

Just submitted mine yesterday 12/13/20, waiting for them to pick it up from the lockbox and waiting for the wait

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

California is responsible for ALL 50 states unless background checks need further adjudication then they are transferred to Vermont.

This is interesting.  I thought that Dallas was responsible for all.  I guess that’s just where we send the paperwork?  The envelope that the NOA1 arrived in had CA in the info, but the way I read it the Dallas Center is the place to send it?  I assume this is normal?  It’s a pity because the Dallas ‘Processing time’ page shows 2.5-7 months but the California one shows 5-7 months... I know I need to be patient I promise..just that was a surprise....

Dallas is a processing lockbox.

The I-129F is also used for K3 petitions.  K1s go to California and K3 get split up between other service centers.

To someone new here to the process, it would be surprising. But, the more you learn the more you will understand the process. You send your initial application to Dallas. Dallas opens the package and scans the documents into the system, at which point it's now available for California to begin the background checks. The paper file is sent to California to continue its path to the embassy. The only place you need to concern yourself with is the California location for now. I hope this gives a better understanding of the process.

Hi everyone, we submitted our I -129F form last January 28, 2020. We received the form I-179C notice of action on February 5,2020.  But we found out some corrections in the form that we had submitted, like in the beneficiary’s address history, so i started living in that address on sept 30 , 2016 up to may 8 2018,but my fiancé put up to “ present “ instead of may 8 2018. How are we going to resolve this mistake. Thank you in advance for those who will give answers.

Thank you for the answer.  My fiancé is planning to call the contact number in the NOA1 , do you think this will work or we just have to write the supplement letter.

If it were me I would want something in writing that proved that I made the effort to correct the error. Over the phone it can be hit or miss with nothing to prove that you made the call.

Hey everyone 👋🏾,

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we mailed our packet via USPS. Monday was a holiday but I tracked the USPS delivery and it states it arrived in Dallas this morning. I’m hoping to see my personal check has been cashed (never thought I’d say that lol ) within the next few weeks.
