The humor part is that he called it humor.

Shouldn't surprise, left can't humor, can't meme..

well this guy should be tried for treason.

I will say, putting cultural sites on the no bomb list is the smart thing to do. We learned that in our officer training. Unless there is some military value it serves no purpose. It accomplishes nothing and you risk alienating local indigenous people who may be sympathetic  to your cause. Zero upside, plenty of downside.

I used to live in a Nuclear Free Zone.

Never quite understood how that worked.

Humor is usually a matter of personal taste. There are plenty of memes that are posted on here that I don't find funny at all and rather tasteless. This joke may not be to everyone's taste, but it is clearly a joke. It doesn't go beyond the bounds of common decency and it isn't something anyone -- especially the Iranian regime -- would take seriously. Like, ooooooooh, this rando from Babson said we should bomb the Kardashians and a mall, so we're on it! Please.

I just don't get -- sorry, continue not to get -- why it is that the left are supposed to be the snowflakes here. You don't think it's funny, fine. But it's not treason, how ridiculous.

My impression that he did not mean it as a joke.

Now certainly could have been worded as a joke.

Jokes should punch up, this seemed to be more akin to the Deplorable comment of she who is irrelevant. I guess only he would know.

I don't disagree that jokes should punch up (though the pop at the Kardashians might fall into that category). It was a stupid joke, and he even said it was a joke.

The best thing I got out of that article was a link to another article on the sidebar informing me that Charlotte Tilbury has a brand new eyeshadow palette out in Pillow Talk, which I have now purchased even though I swore off buying new palettes in 2020.

I'm not offended whatsoever, the only person I've ever met with a more crude sense of humor than me is my wife. The thing about humor is it's entirely what the person intended it to be. Whether "punching up", "punching down", "punching sideways", "punch drunk", whether someone else thinks its funny or not (I particularly think Disney humor is unfunny, can't even pretend to laugh at that, but doesn't make those who make Disney jokes not using humor, I also think people getting offended is funny), all irrelevant. We can intimate that a tiny fragment of this was humor, particularly about the Kardashians, but overwhelmingly, this was not humor. Even those with awful SI/EI should still be able to see this. This was a person having a knee-jerk triggered reaction to the bombing, revealing their personal animosity toward the President and even the country they live in. Thankfully, despite them deleting their social media profiles, the internet is forever, and archives still function well. This sort of behavior isn't of someone telling jokes.

Since the edit time passed..

As someone who has regularly watched "offensive" comedians, til they pretty much went underground or had a career change after 2016 (wonder why), the one thing they never did when they told offensive jokes was to go delete all their social media profiles and hole themselves up away from the public view. He can claim he's joking all he likes, his attitude, his reaction, and his political demographic clearly losing their collective sense of humor says otherwise. Unfortunate that this same demographic that likes to invoke humor when clearly not possessing it, simultaneously has been out to destroy actual humor with the "I'm offended" cudgel. Not so much a coincidence that a triggered professor "juxtaposes" an incident wishing harm on the very country he lives in. Guaranteed he didn't possess this non-humor humor when Obama was busy dropping bombs on countries in MENA. It's clear this reaction all stems from Trump Derangement Syndrome. It isn't off-limits to wish harm upon your own country because orange man bad. Wrecking ball, meet west.

I may have been biased by his job, his employer, his location and I know he apologised but still think he was belittling people not up to his level. I may be wrong. Going at the Kardashians is fine, going at people who he considers to be below him who like that sort of stuff is where I think I draw the line. And having said that I need to be extra careful not to do the same!

Florida security guard charged with threatening to kill Trump in retaliation for Soleimani

Quote

Agent Lucas White wrote that shortly after Trump announced last week that a U.S. airstrike had killed Qassem Soleimani in Iraq in retaliation for plotting numerous terrorist attacks, Lump, under the name "BlackMan vs. America," began livestreaming a seven-minute video on Facebook.

During that video, agents say Lump made several threats against the president – who was staying at his Mar-a-Lago club, less than an hour away – while periodically displaying a loaded AK-47 semi-automatic rifle.

Lump had white cream on his face, a towel wrapped like a turban on his head, an apparent shower curtain over his body and Middle Eastern music playing in the background, White wrote of the video that Facebook reported to the authorities on Friday.

Lump made several threats against the president, including: "He killed my leader, please tell me where is Donald Trump?" and "I need to find the Donald because if I don't find him, I am going to have to blow up Broward County," White wrote.

Quote

When confronted early Saturday at his home, Lump said he streamed the video in response to Soleimani's death, but said it was a joke, White wrote. But nowhere in the video did Lump say he was joking and conceded, "I should not have did it in the first place," White wrote.

Kind of explains why the Iranian government was so quick to blame it on a mechanical failure.  I used to watch Air Disasters a lot, I don’t remember many aircraft incidents being determined in less than 24 hours.

I watch it as much as my wife allows. Learned alot from it. Prohibited from watching it within a month of us flying lol
