Don't worry too much about the estimated dates, afterall they are only estimates. Many people here get their citizenship on or way before the estimated date given.

Hi guys, I submitted mine on 01/03/2020 but for some reason it says 01/04/2020.

I have a question for anyone who have already done their biometrics. My GC is not with me, do I absolutely need it to do my biometrics?

I don't know when mine is scheduled for or where it'll be.

Hi there, few questions about filling N400. I received my 10 year GC last July 2019 came in here as K2 visa. I have a 10 year old son K2 visa follow-to join. He came in here a year after i came. his 2 year GC expired this month January 2020, but we applied his 10 year GC last September 2019. We received a letter saying they received his application, got a biometrics letter yesterday for him.

Heres my question :)

* Should i wait for his 10 year GC before applying the N400??

* Are we going to fill up the N400 for both of us??

*I know the filling fee is for both of us since his under age, what about the biometrics fee is it for each of us??

Thank You guys in advance

Applied online Jan 5th (in Boston). Current wait time is 7 months (August 2020), but got a notification on the 10th that biometrics have been scheduled, although I can't see the documents to find out the dates.

No you can apply when you are eligible. He has nothing to do with your N-400 and can’t apply as he is not 18. So no fee no bio or anything for him. He will however become a citizen when you do because he is in your custody, under 18 and a GC holder. So you can apply for a N-600 and/or passport for him after your oath ceremony.

Am about to submit my n400 online, next week. I have got a quick question? Which I need help with, I used my husband’s last name while filing Adjustment of status, now am thinking 🤔 of changing my name back to my maiden name, is it going to hurt 😢 me or delay my n400. People are saying it a bad idea. But I don’t like my husband’s last name. Am confuse 🤷🏻‍♀️

i also feel the certificate is like a birth certificate, so my husband doesn’t understand why his name should be on it.

am filling under the 3 year marriage rule.

please help. Thanks 🙏🏽

It will not delay your N-400 but it can delay the oath process depending on where your local office is as with a name change the oath have to be before a judge.
Even if you do keep his name and if a few years want to change you can request a new certificate with new name on it (have to pay fee) but the certificate is not like a birth certificate it is proof of citizenship and therefore should have your legal name on it.
