Dang haha I feel like mine is the only one that pushed back. I was told that I was originally slated for an interview back in March, but just didn’t get a date yet.

03-19-2021: Officially an American Citizen 🇺🇸 Entire journey from initial K-1 Visa filing to Naturalization took 5 years, 8 days.

My estimated time changed from October 2020 to December 2020. About 3 weeks ago it changed to 2 more month of waiting time before they take action on my case. Waiting waiting waiting...I don’t know why I thought it would be different this time :((

No, mine was June 2020, but I haven’t even had any sort of estimate displayed for over a month.

I applied Jan 5th in Boston and know someone who applied the day after me who has an interview this week. Haven’t heard anything since Jan 29th

Because we are in the middle of a pandemic? Because you can’t have 50 people at a time Oath ceremonies? Because in some states the courts are still closed?

After I've finished my journey, had my oath and all I have realized that USCIS could easily tweak their protocols a little bit. Instead of just recommending the candidate, they could actually do the oath right there, and DONE. Saving time and stress for everyone (at least while pandemic is still here).

CITIZENSHIP TIMELINE

Field office: San Antonio, TX

01/14/2020: Submitted N400 (3 years rule)

02/04/2020: Biometrics

04/23/2020: Interview

Interview de-scheduled (notice received on April 2.)

07/30/2020: Interview Re-scheduled

07/30/2020 Naturalization Application Approved

07/30/2020 Oath Ceremony

I am done! God bless Texas!

Uscis can tweak it. They used to do same day oath ceremony right after the interview. They are doing it in some  states. This pandemic situation can be used to reinstate same day oath ceremony instead of going back into the bureaucratic maze.

a pandemic with nearly 100% survival rate. we have lives that need to be lived as well, not everyone can sit around for 2 plus years on their I751/N400 being adjuncted,  this whole closure was badly executed on behalf on uscis. if we can have 500 people at a time in walmart touching everything and being near each other than they can do 50 people at an oath ceremony.
