My NOA2 was Dec. 6th and when I called today they said they were working on Nov. 26th but they also told me they received mine on Dec. 26th, did they tell you what date yours was received?

My case was received on Dec 23.

Hello!

I thought  NVC received the cases and granted the numbers  3 or 4 weeks after NOA2.  But I see  NVC is  receiving cases 3 weeks after NOA2 and people is still waiting for their NVC numbers. Does that mean that we should wait  3 more weeks after our case is received by NVC?

You can start gathering the documents you will require for the interview. (birth certificate, photos, evidence of ongoing relationship, etc)

You can't  do anything  further  in so far as your embassies are concerned until you have  your case number from NVC. USCIS has 30 days to send your case to NVC sometimes it's longer. Check out the first post in this thread and download and read the pdf file.  It has things you can do it get ready.

There is nothing for yout to do till you have your case number. There is a PDF file on the first page of this thread first posting that explains and helps you along from now till the embassy with tips, tricks and hacks. Download it begin to know what you can do and when you can do it. Good luck with your journey.

It means that no one can with any certainty advise on what the timeline is from NOA2 to NVC. The process is advocated on workload with the different agencies and that workload is fluid at best. I suggest after on month you make your first call to NVC to determine if it has arrived and a number assigned. If not then wait a week and try your call again. Repeat, repeat and repeat till you have your case number. If your wait is short then count your blessings if longer then stay busy and don't fret that yours took longer then someone else's. Comparing will get your blood pressure up.

I just called NVC. The hold time was only about 1 min. Anyway I had an NOA2 date of Dec 6 - no case number yet, but NVC did receive it.

Just an FYI if anyone has a similar timeline.

My case arrived at NVC on December 23. I just got my case number today, January 2.

Yes, that’s what they’re referring to. Sending NVC the request to update your email address. All you do is go to the link on the pdf and follow the steps listed in the document.
However, you can always call NVC at any time to inquire about your case, to see if they’ve received it, to see if your case # has been created yet etc.
