I'm a little worried that the NVC maybe didn't get my email cause I got my NOA2 on the 5th but they still haven't sent me the case nr. Is this normal and does it have anything to do with the country I'm from?

Have you called? Information is in the PDF on the first page, first posting.

I've tried calling 4 times but they never picked up. Been on hold for over an hour each time.

Just to clarify:

Once we receive the I-797 letter we can send the information listed in the PDF in the "Type Your Question Below:" section of the Ask NVC page? We don't have to wait 30 days like the I-797 letter says? My NOA2 Receipt Number is the same as my USCIS Case Number, is that normal?

Thank you, the whole "wait 30 days" thing is throwing me off.

Call 7am ET if you don't wanna be on hold.

 

And try to get use to the pdf on first page and follow the tricks. All ur worries will vanished in a snap of a finger

Once you have your NOA2 then send off an email using the instructions from the PDF. There is no need to wait as your file may have come and gone by the time you file a email request. Yes the numbers are correct and is normal.

I stated in the PDF for this activity that calling at the time the open gets you the least wait time. I used to call 7 am and it rang twice and someone pickedup.

For JA they accept as proof of income only the following items: 
  
Tax transcript for the past three years 
Copies of W-2's for the past three years 
Letter from your employer 
Six months of Payroll Check stubs

I just called NVC. The hold time was only about 1 min. Anyway I had an NOA2 date of Dec 6 - no case number yet, but NVC did receive it. 

 

Just an FYI if anyone has a similar timeline.

 I honestly think it’s varying because someone posted in the group on facebook that they received their case number last Friday. NOA2 was Dec 3. While I on the other hand, called earlier and was told that no case # is available and they’re still working on cases from NOV 20. My NOA2 was Dec 5.

My NOA2 was Dec. 6th and when I called today they said they were working on Nov. 26th but they also told me they received mine on Dec. 26th, did they tell you what date yours was received?

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

 

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

 

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

 

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.
