Hi guys. I’m also an October filer. I was just wondering if all of you here received an IOE receipt number?

Welcome to the group Shemuz! I think that‘s the new process since July 1st, so I assume all of us have IOE receipt numbers. We got one as well.

what service center did you get assigned to?

Thank you for your reply! 😊 Oh ok. I was seeing a lot of posts about the IOE receipt numbers, but I didn’t know all of us were getting them. Do you know if these IOE numbers mean anything in terms of processing times?

I was assigned to the Texas Service Center. How about you?

Unfortunately not. Nobody really knows anything about the processing times yet because it‘s only been 4 months since the implementation of the new „electronic“ process (having the files online, even if just as a scan for now ☺️). One would hope having it all electronically would mean more flexibility (approval by whichever service center has time), faster access, online communication with petitioner, etc. but I‘m not sure the system is used to it‘s full potential yet.

I‘d hope that within the next few (6?) months, we start seeing approvals in order to see a timeline pattern Concerning the IOE case numbers.

You’re lucky though - you’re at the Texas SC. Their processing time is about 4 months less than Nebraska - which we got 😩

Oh ok. I read somewhere that some who got IOE receipt numbers were getting quicker approvals. But I also read that it was because those people were part of the pilot program, which is over now. So now I guess we’re back to the normal processing times. I still hope they somehow pick up their pace and processing times are shortened. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

And yeah, I saw that Nebraska was a little further behind than TSC, but Potomac was even quicker. Who knows, maybe Nebraska will pick up its pace and start giving approvals sooner. I hope you get your approval sooner than expected!

Hi guys👋

I'm also an October filler, my husband is USC and I'm from Russia, we sent our I-130 from China, we spend last 3 years there, to the Lewisville lockbox service on 10/10 and it was received on 10/14 and we haven't heard anything from USCIS since, we submitted I-1145 form and I put my Russian address as a mailing address but no e-mail, no text message, no hard copy yet although it's been over a month🤬 the only thing that's holding me from going crazy is that the check was clearned with the petition. It cashed so I'm assuming they received our package just didn't notify us for some reason, my husband called them the other day and they said they will send the hard copy, without specifying if they send it again cuz it was lost the first time or they just ignored us till now and will send it for the first time, also they said they can't send an email so we have to wait for the hard copy to arrive to Russia, so I'm wondering are there any other ways to get a receipt and our NOA, just sitting and waiting is killing me, I'd really appreciate any help🙏

I am not sure how do they assign Service Centers to cases. I hope is not Nebraska nor California as they have the longest processing times of all centers for I-130, hopping it is either Texas or Vermont.

Even though they say otherwise, I am convinced that the state the petitioner lives in is still the determinant of which service center it is assigned to. They used to call it "jurisdiction over which the service center serves". My research confirmed in all the cases I reviewed that this system is still largely in play. I checked for all petitioners on the east coast from MA to GA and each of them got assigned to Potomac SC. I live in the DC metropolitan area and was sent there as well as previous predecessors. By the way,  Potomac SC is located in Arlington, VA (DC Metropolitan area).

Interesting observation. Why is Florida not included in the east coast though?
