Hello everyone!

It's been a very long time since I've posted here and quite a bit of stuff has happened (some good, others not so much 😅) but I wanted to give you all a status update

Biggest thing is that after having had my AOS interview almost 2 months ago, the status of my case finally switched on the 24th to "We ordered your new card" and yesterday it went to "Case was approved" I cannot tell you how much of a relief this was as my work permit had expired (dreadful situation) and I really thought I was in it for the long haul when it came to the waiting game, thinking I would be waiting a whole 120 days before anything happened.

I did call up my congressman's office for help at the beginning of the month (they sent a congressional inquiry about a week later) as well as sent an e-request via the USCIS website and to this day my best bet is that the e-request got them going since it said I would hear an update on the 24th and I sure did haha 🤣

Don't lose hope folks! This has been such a long and arduous journey and with COVID messing everything up I really hope this is the worst that things will ever come to be...

Good luck 🥰

Hi,

Congrats on your approval. How long after your case status said "case is ready to be scheduled for interview ", did you wait before contacting your Congress man's office? I have been waiting since 12/2019, but each time I check the website it says that my "case is within normal processing time", so I'm reluctant to contact my Congress woman because of that. Thanks, and I appreciate you replying me.

Hi,

I have been waiting with my case status stuck at case is ready to be scheduled for an interview since 12/2019, I filed 10/2019. My life has been on hold ever since, can't go to school or anything important.

Your question posted got me curious though, were you a co signer on your mortgage with your partner? My husband and I have been thinking about getting a house in my name, but because I don't have a green card yet, we are think I am not qualified. Can u kindly expand on your mortgage application process, like who is the main applicant and who is the cosigner, what immigration paper did they ask for? We really want to get our kids out our apartment and get a house where they can grow up as normal kids with space to play, pets and all that. I can't wait on that green card for that anymore. The wait is way too brutal. I appreciate you replying me on this matter. Thanks.

I am the main applicant.

My wife is a co applicant.  For a FHA mortage all you need is a EAD and SSN to qualify for it (with the credit score + job history + current income) of course.

I added my wife to some of my older credit cards with a good payment history.  This built up her credit and added some history to it.  She needed the salary documents from her home country that were similar to W2s here in the US.  As well they asked for her EAD, Passport, SSN and the last 2 months of paystubs.  It was difficult and my loan officer had to get direct approval from FHA itself as their in company risk manager denied us based on my wifes EAD expiring within 1 year.

Check this site to see if people who share the same local office with you and filed around the same time or later are getting interviews yet..  Then use that to determine if you should contact your congressman or not..

I personally did contact mine as ive seen people who filed in October 2019 at the st paul office been getting interviews since last November.  And people as late as January 2020.

Don't want to have a denied greencard for uscis failing to update the website  that they scheduled a interview and I never got the letter.  Better safe than sorry 😅

Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate it. Do you mind telling me how you went about informing your congressperson about your whole predicament, like the process you went through?

We found our representative for our district via house.gov.  After we found out who they were we filled out simple release of information worksheet that asked the names or applicant, case number, and a description of the issue.  Send it to them via email, and wait for a reply.

I had done this for a Inquiry on my wifes k1 visa as well.

Did you send relationship evidence in with your initial filing?

The only thing I submitted was a copy of our marriage certificate,a few photos,2 letters from a couple of friends,a few amazon receipts with my wife's name and our address.I didn't have anything else because we had just got married. After a few months after submitting the I-485 we received an RFE for the support documents.(I got scared after receiving the RFE so I sent plenty of financial documents proving I could take care of my wife).Somehow I think those documents helped our case.

Just a progress update.

We finally got my wifes NOA1 for her EAD renewal,  So luckily she can continue working for another 180 days.  It took 9 weeks to get her notice.

Our interview is on April 12th.  1 day after my birthday. 😅

For proof of relationship, we plan on bringing:

1. Deed for our house

2. Joint bank account statements

3. Health insurance with both our names on it.

4 . Joint utility statements

5. Joint credit card statements.

6. Beneficiary list for my 401k wich lists my wife.

7. Emergency contact list for our works wich list each other.

8.  Notarized letters from my family stating their confidence in the relationship.

9. Photos of us together.

10. Reciept from hotel with both our names on it, from our anniversary.

My wifes AOS was approved after a 1.5 hour interview.

Majority of that interview was the IO reorganizing ALL of my wifes immigration documents from the i129f to the evidence we brought in. (I could see all the papers he was pulling out of the binder lol)

Best of luck to anyone still waiting for their interview!!

Hopefully we will have the ROC interview waived.  IO said there is probably a good chance if we submit the right evidence, like what we brought in. But obviously not up to him.

Had my interview on Thursday and got approved the same day!!! 🥳 We were in and out within 20-25 minutes. The officer was friendly overall and just asked the standard Yes/No questions, but that's about it. Very happy that it's over, at least for another 2 years! 😂

Good luck to everyone else, you got this! 🙌

August 2019 filer and yes, we're still waiting for interview to be scheduled. Status used to be waiting for interview since Oct 2019 but after we moved (still same city location), it updated to Oct 2020. I don't know if this affected anything...

My interview was on december 14.  my husband and I got home feeling disappointed and mad. The officer was superrrrr nice that he interrogated (not interview) us for an hour and said our medical is expired eventhough I am from K1 but he insisted that what he said is the correct way. Been waiting for the RFe letter he “promised”. None yet.
hope yours is better than mine.
