my lawyer sent my renewal to Missouri and now iam paying the price for his mistake .. they separated my application and i get the card not valid for reentry , they are refusing to issue me a travel document , i booked my ticket when i application gets approved and iam now stuck

@Ameliaeh when I said you will pay when your EAD is approved I didn't say for the EAD for the forms you didn't submit like I-131. on your case your perfectly fine.

Relieve-the-tension joke time:

 

A man pokes his head into an attorney's office.  "How much do you charge for a consultation?" he asked.

"I charge $800 for 3 questions," said the attorney.

"Isn't $800 quite a lot for just 3 questions?" asked the man.

"I don't think so," said the attorney.  "And what is your third question?"

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You all are survivors of abuse, victims are those who lost their lives because of abuse, honor them and SPEAK OUT against domestic violence.There are thousands of people feeling utterly powerless and ashamed let them know there is a way out, let them know that  you survived abuse!.

Tell your lawyer not to be lazy and  to read about Immigration Law sometimes and tell him/her  that google is his/her friend as well.

I have to tell you
This is really strange.
Many people are afraid to talk about it.
And I also, because it seems embarrassing
It seems like I'm to blame myself...about what happened
I try to think and analyze a lot
I make excuses for him.
And I'm afraid no one will believe me

My VAWA case was approved on March 18, 2019.

My attorney never followed up on my previous I-485 form and assumed that it was pending with USCIS.

It appeared that my I-485 was denied long time ago before I even filed I-360, and until today  I didn't know it was denied.😓😪

Basically, I've wasted 7 months not knowing what was going on.......  

Now based on my approved I-360 I need to file a new I-485 for myself and my daughter.

My attorney now is asking me to pay him $5000 more so he can file it for us.🥶

It feels like he is taking advantage of me, on top of his negligence. 

I don't want to pay him and decided to file myself.

Please, if someone filed on your own I-485 could you let me know the process and reassure me that I will be fine filling it on my own.

 

 

 

That is extremely sad. your case status on USCIS website never changed?

Unfortunately,

It was always said that my case was transferred to another office,  I could have had a GC by now..... such a setback😔

If you have pending I360, your EAD renewal will go to Vermont. dont forget to mention c09 as you have pending I485
