Honesty was the only legal option....a misrepresentation would risk a permanent bar on any US visa.

 

What country? Some are more strict than others.

They may or may not do a psych evaluation. They may or may not impose a ban for up to a year to ensure you are clean. There may or may not be testing during or after the ban to ensure that you have not used.

Unfortunately, they tend to be rather strict IIRC. I'll defer to others, but I would lean towards there being a 1 year ban.

It's if the panel physician determines there may be a substance abuse risk (it's illegal in the US federally). A positive test would almost certainly ensure the ban. Prior use is a judgement call.

An admission to drug use is all they need. It's an automatic 1 year ban. They would give u six months depending on ur answer as to why u stopped smoking. You will have to random drug test yourself every 3 months and then after a year email embassy and show them proof of being clean. They will give u new appt and u wull have to do another medical

The question they ask is if you have ever used. Then they usually follow up with how often.

I told him 1 times daily on and off sometimes month's I haven't smoked
